Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Next generation for a stagnate 147 is on the move! A needed step up for 26-0 Jaron 'Boots' Ennis and follows on the heels of Vergil Ortiz jr doing the very same in his last start. #3 ranked Lipinets is every bit a capable operator and the very best Ennis has faced to date. Unfortunately he tends to walk in on a guy and while I don't like to get caught up in hype...Ennis is not the guy to walk onto. I expect a pretty entertaining fire fight with Ennis taking a chin check or two but then quite possibly getting the mid to late tko when Lipinets starts to bust up.
Jerwin Ancajas makes his 9th defense of a Super Fly strap v Jonathan Javier Rodriguez 22-1 from Mexico and 12-0 Eimantas Stanionis fights the battle tested semi resurgent Thomas Dulorme 25-4-1 who has more tread than a set of Firestones tires on the undercard in a trinket eliminator. Triple solid Showtime triple header for the first time in a long time.

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
https://youtu.be/vjZUkttHss4 I like the low key approach of Ennis. They may have played it up a bit ;D but save all that strife and BS talk we here so much. Interesting Lipinets thinks he is going to run :-X. I see a shoot out shaping up!

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Ancajas in the third spot on the card opening things up. How's that for respect for a multi defense champ :-X. Good 1st for him. Caught Rodriquez with a clean right that made him do a stutter step. Working the body well late round, Rodriquez looking for a sneaky uppercut.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Rodriquez nailed with rabbit punch complains to ref again. Ancajas really sits inside with his head too still and Rodriquez really working for the short uppercut coming close. Close 3rd actually.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Short counter lefts on point for Ancajas in 4th stops Rodriquez in his tracks a couple times.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
cleaner more distanced 5th for Ancajas moving well. Rodriquez has this awkward chop to him but can't do much when on the end of the punches.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Ancajas back to boring in with head on the line and Rodriquez doing a good job of answering exchanges in 6th. Goood left to body of Ancajas and Rodriquez has a very live dangerous uppercut. Best round and first won for Rodriquez.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Good behind the hard jab again Ancajas, Rodriquez coming forward working right hand on the southpaw. Steve Farhood has it even :-X just can't see that.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Ancajas has two personalities literally flip flopping round between sharp outside work and then laying in. Some serious exchanges in this 8th Ancajas has his trapped in corner. Ancajas gets the KD and Rodriquez has a time getting up but does. He may have shot his load that round was brutal for both.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Wow this has turned a war. You can see it sapping Rodriquez though but he is still sitting down on his stuff. Literally tit for tat exchanging clean uppercuts and looking at one another ffs
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Just an awesome 9th. Rodriquez has big balls and rallies back with Ancajas along the ropes and soaking up hard body shots from the challenger!

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
This is why you never yank a Mexican warrior the first time they get wobbled ;D. Head to head in 10th Rodriquez lands a right hand he threw from the damn parking lot. Hard scrappy round both looked buzzed and Ancajas holding on late 10th. Can see last two round for Rodriquez and before that his corner was asking him if he wanted to quit :p. Brutal fight.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Ancajas gets his head together in 11th sharp combos and gets out well. Rodriquez almost batting away the lead left like he's more irritated by it than now hurt just trying to lay his own in. Stays right in front all round, left eye of Ancajas lumping up better round for the champ.
-
Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Simple as..Ancajas stay in he gets nailed with these awkward chopping hooks but takes it well. Somehow Rodriquez looks stronger that earlier, tale of two styles for the champion. He's pooching this final round a bit by laying his head stock still. Give these two a bonus this was a fecking war! Much respect

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Scores 115-112..116-111..117-110 all three Ancajas W.Unam. The 117-110 is bogus, gave Rodriquez clean 4 rounds easily. It turned after the KD got brutal.

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Dulorme up 3-0 for me. He looks fresh and like he's set the clock back but it's early. Stanionis doesn't have much imagination in there needs to up that pressure slow Dulorme late.

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Staniosis ended up taking a 12 round decision. Missed rest of fight watching another and the site started timing out continuously with the whole 504 Gateway. Have we paid the light bill here ;D that was pretty frustrating. It was running like dial up, rbr turned futile and just broke out a pen and pad.
Ennis looked world class scoring the 6th round tko. Very shifty and top notch reflex. Lipinets did get in the occasional early hook which Ennis took well and returned with the much sharper arsenal. It's a very odd boxing world these days. Frankly same day-same division we see prospect Benn blow out a tough scrappy journeymen and then go on to talk of him needing a spent and fragile Khan to 'get' a ranking. Ennis goes out and dominates and cleanly starches a top 5 legit title challenger and now sits right in line for both Crawford and Spence and there's total silence. I get it different amount of time in the sport, levels but it's just weird. Showtime usually replays full cards a week apart but right now it's just highlight reels

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Finally a great weekend for boxing and I missed most of it. Just got a nice version of the Lipinet-Ennis watching it now.
Haven't found anything on Ancajas yet, just some shabby highlights- music underneath not needed yet! Thats whats out there for now.

He looks the goods my man and very effective switch hitter. Yeh the replays are hard to peg down. Used to be Showtime would regularly replay full cards the next weekend but now with PBC things are sparse in that regard. They do a Showtime stream service on Youtube that is listed as having a 'free trial' right now but usually it's about $10 a month.

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Fighting on on a much higher level than Lipinets. Just watched round 3, his combos snappy, Lipinet lands occasionaly, not sure if he can't put combos together due to Ennis switch hitting or is he just a one-two guy?
I got a version that is edited it a bit, but doing the job right now! Round 4 coming up!

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
My copy starts doing a benny hill routine in the 4th- it went on fastforward lol! The replay of the lowblow, Lipinets looked liked- yeah so what it went low. Its all I can land!

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
Ok Jaron looked solid. But I'm going to be a bit hard on him. Lipinets plodded, threw one at a time, was predictable every round every minute. And for some comical reason my copy pauses on impact of last kd, when it returns the fight is over!;D
His record shows he's earn the right to dance with the big names.
FYI-
has boxrec gone total pay? I can only access amatuer records.
Nevertheless it was a one sided showcase against a guy who looked pretty beatable regardless of who he would've fought.

Re: Jaron Ennis v Sergey Lipinets 4/10 Showtime
i think he beats everybody at 140 and 147.
