I'm getting about 7 hours a night during the work week n still feeling tired.
I'm a first year teacher and lesson planning is kicking my ass after school.
In the UK, how do you guys view enough sleep?
We hear 8-9 hours is best in the U.S.

Try and get a extra hour during the week, you may feel better for it.!
Also as you get older you find you need less sleep, I need about 7 hours if that.
When the weekend comes don't over do the drink, as that can knock you about
don't drink Sunday night, as your week can start off you feeling fresh, but that's me
being captain sensible.
Or you could go out Friday night have very little sleep, drunk as a skunk and have
sex all night, then repeat the proceed ear Saturday night, not that I would no of such
things.!!!;D
Hi mate,
7 hours a night sounds great...when I have nothing to worry about and I don't have work I can easily sleep for 9-10 hours a day every day, but give me the stuff I can worry about and I can turn that into 4-5 hours a night some nights. In rare cases insomnia will send me to work on just an hour or two, but that's only three or four times a year that it'll get that bad.
One of my friends is a doctor, and he regularly builds up a sleep debt during the week and catches up on the weekend a bit like you are. Maybe try changing your routine - could you stay late in school to finish your lesson planning then get home a couple of hours later but with nothing to do apart from relaxing?
A teacher complaining about not having enough down time? Right off the bat this thread doesnt sit right with me ;D
7 is enough
Can do as little as 5 if have to be in London some work days (I live 220 miles away in leeds)
Every so often on a weekend I will do an 11 hour sleep session. It's ace
I've slowly but surely lost my ability to sleep in. I used to be World class in my pomp but now Im generally up at a sensible hour.
I tend to sleep for 6 or 7 hours a night.
As a teenager I could sleep into the afternoon but the older you get the less sleep you need. I have 7/8 hours normally but I generally think I am awake during it which gives me a headache in the morning.
M-F I average 6 hours of sleep a night and 1-2 hours more on the weekend unless it is hunting season.
