Re: I Just Joined: Greetings From Tasmania Australia
Gooday Ron, Im up north from you, we dont get to say that to many people here in Victoria. You are the only thing in between us and the Antarctic.
I love Tassie, spent many months there surfing in my teens. Kind Island too the other year for a few weeks.
Funny thing is On Monday last I sent off a set of boxing tapes to Hamilton ON.

Re: I Just Joined: Greetings From Tasmania Australia
Thanks for all the welcoming notes, folks. Yes, my introductory post is a little over-the-top, as they say; it helps to balance, if balance were necesssary, all the posts about which one learns nothing about the person introducing himself. Life is busy even in retirement, but I hope to come by here occasionally in my late adulthood(60 to 80) and old age(80++), if I last that long.-Ron:cool:

Re: I Just Joined: Greetings From Tasmania Australia
Just dropping in for my periodic visit, as invited from time to time by site moderators. I should say, as asked, that I have not played chess for at least the last 20 years. Indeed, after childhood and adolescence, 1940s to early 1960s, I have not been much for games at all. My website gives a summary of my games from the 1960s to the 2010s. Since I am not able to post my URL, I'll post the Google name: Pioneering Over Five Epochs.-Ron

What are you like at Super Mario Kart and Street Fighter II turbo ?

Re: I Just Joined: Greetings From Tasmania Australia
After all this chat about gum boots and rubber boots, and after being away from this thread for many a Tasmanian moon, I might suggest we close this thread--and move on---with or without our gum boots. Before I go, though, let me say that I live in what is called Australia's oldest town: George Town. Hobart and Sydney are now cities, but this town is still a town of 5000.-Ron Price, George Town, Tasmania
