The American competed between 1974 and 1990, winning 28 of his 35 fights.
Mayweather Sr went on to train his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr, to become one of the greatest ever boxers with a perfect 50-0 record.
But footage has emerged showing the boxing legend is probably best sticking out of the ring.
