question : how good is Deontay Wilder ?
Ive seen a few of his fights and he looks very athletic, heavy handed , and seems to be a pretty good all round fighter.
Have any of you guys seen him fight live ?
He won a Bronze but i didnt see him fight in the unpaid ranks.
So come on guys is he the real deal ? 26 - 0 - 26 kos says he could be.
Would he beat Dave Price ? Pickey Fury ?
Opinions please
Re: question : how good is Deontay Wilder ?
Kind of difficult to gauge him
He's definitely got power. KOing every opponent you've faced is still a big indicator of power, even if the opponents weren't exactly high leveled.
Problem with him is that he's moving along to slow ... but he definitely has one thing going for him and that is power.
Re: question : how good is Deontay Wilder ?
I think he is appalling. He is knocking everyone out because he is fighting rubbish opponents. If you fight Kid Thunder 25 times, you are likely to be unbeaten after 25 fights.

Al he's terrible the state of American HW, what's happened,! a poor bunch hell I've not seen a good
one in years.!:(
Re: question : how good is Deontay Wilder ?
His power is very good, even though he's fighting below par fighters.
The exciting thing is that some of the time when you fight below par fighters you come across a tough journeyman that's hard to stop, (Glen Johnson's role now) so in his 26(26) wins, someone must have had a chin.
It means that although he may not have the defences of a Wladimir K or the thought process/tactical approach of a Lennox Lewis, he can change a fight with one punch and has a chance against anyone.
26(26)-0-0 and he's 27, he should be more in the spotlight, and you'd imagine if he was "that good" he'd have done more.

Yeah, but much bigger, I think that'll help Wilder if he ever faces a Klitschko.

Price would wreck him. Has power, but he's fighting puddings.

You got the wheels turning there. Nice. Wilder is really a complete mystery. He and Stewart both fed on the comfort of respected backyards and more than a few hapless bar room bouncers. But I think Stewart was much more composed...better at putting punches together and had already had a couple of 'Oh shit' moments where he had to come off the floor earlier in fights. He had that hurdle jumped. I honestly cannot remember Wilder being hit square on the chin yet...he has everything his way and its not entirely because he is so good but more so by verrrry careful design. Telling is that they said lastnight that he and Price had been thinking about a match for 3 years ??? I hope that was not accurate. Anyone can see ko's if they are feasting on tin men and late subs. One plus though Wilder WAS much more patient to start. He took his time. His form is gangly and loose so hope he gets it together.
I couldn't help but notice the irony as you mentioned Stewart. Both he and Wilder fought for that Wbc Intercontinental-who cares trinket. Wilder beat a former jr college B ball player lastnight and Stewart went to war, bled and stunned a young Evander Holyfield for it before being taken out, in his 24th.

Flintoff would knock him out.
