do you think its bad parenting taking your 11 year old son?
Only if you're buying him more than three beers before he has to drive you home. And make sure he wears his seat belt.
Looking forward to this bill...might actually make it to the main event, unlike all of those American cards that I've tried and failed to get to this year!
Flanagan has the same problem as some of our other champions (Lee Selby is a prime example) in that he doesn't really sell enough tickets by himself to justify a big venue, so I'm more looking forward to Liam vs Liam.

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
im a manc and its a fellow manc defending his world title in Manchester against a decent opponent and still it isn't a fight I would go out of my way for
its the Liams fight that I am excited about, a welsh fella against a scouser
it has the potential to be a classic

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
It looks a close fight on paper. Slight edge to Smith.

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
yeah I think smith will win

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
Williams will give everything tho
and so will smith
neither will give any ground or go down easy
its gonna be ace

It looks at great card. Worth going to if you can.

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
still no ticket
best I can get is 45 for a seat in the gods which is a shit view, id rather watch it on the TV
anyone ever gone to a tout?

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
Not for boxing and not for years but I used to buy off ticket touts all the time for gigs, bit of haggling and waggling, they used to con the shit out of the tourists, I normally walked off but hanged around in sight until they needed to off load 'em
I've never been to the MEN but are you sure those seats are in the gods? They're only using half the venue
-
Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
no im not totally sure
its tier 2 and I think I was tier 2 for calzaghi lacy (until I was moved to please tv viewers) and it was a shit view
I watched macrinelli hobson from up there and I could hardly see what was happening
and I think half the venue usually means half way across rather than half way down

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
Liam Smith blew his weight for the fight today, and came in two pounds heavy. The age old question in this situation is, was he going to be so drained, and so chose to sacrifice making weight to get a better chance of the win, or was it just carelessness? I suppose it does add another dimension to the fight, but the cynic in me (and the fact that I'm pro Liam Williams) thinks Smith wanted to boost his chances and gave up trying to make the weight.

The eight thing can both ways as you say. This might switch the edge back to Williams now.

Or because he didn't try to cut that last couple of pounds, it could swing to Smith because he will feel bigger and stronger. If he was 6 Lbs over like his brother was against Ward, you could think he had a sloppy camp, but he might have had a great camp and feel strong.
Looking forward to it, I hope the weight doesn't have a massive bearing on the result.

FFS Sosa misses weight now too.

Re: BT Sport Boxing Launch Night - Lomachenko v Sosa, Smith v Williams, Flanagan v Pe
He came in at 130.4, stripped to 130.2. Has 2 hours to loss the rest. He should be fine tho.
