The right cross (which is a counter-punch always involving the opponent's left jab) eventually will be his downfall (again)...
He doesn't suck though.
He hasn't fought anyone credible yet, but you can see the talent.
He'll be Top 5 across the board very soon.
He's a D level fighter. He's a joke
He's my joker pick for tonight so hope he wins. What time does he fight??
We'll see about what level he is later I don't think this fight will prove much
People act like he's going to fight Wlad tonight, what part of young for a heavyweight and started late don't people get? Will he go undefeated no but his power is a problem and one punch knockout hides many issues.
It's the fact he's had 28 fights without fighting a semi live fighter. No progression what so ever. You can say what you want but fighting bum after bum after bum does nothing for a fighter. He is better off not havin the fights and getting good sparring partners in. He also doesn't look like he is learning. The punches he were throwing against Audley were like punches you'd see in a bar-room brawl. As for his power - I reckon Chisora would KO any of the guys he has KOd an Chisora isn't a powerful heavyweight. His next fight is a good match and I will be interested to see how he does? He should win by KO but I would like to see a few rounds.
I was watching some Michael Grants fights from way back and he looked like a super prospect compared to this guy.
Wilder is a bum..
We're talking like the division is stacked with talent just lining up to embarrass the guy, it isn't people.
There's Wlad, Vitali, then everyone else. He's in that everyone else group and his size strength and athleticism will see him alright against all of the chasing pack. He might get chinned along the way and he might get flattened but that's the only real danger.
There is talk of him getting the Mitchell vs Areolla winner and he wanted to fight Chisora do to legal issues. He's getting good sparring the matches are him paying the bills.
Wilder is a slow learner but he has great raw skills, this is why I complain about 30 year old Euros who haven't fought anyone being declared the best in their division.
Amir Mansour would be a proper fight at this stage of Wilder's career.
Amir would absolutely destroy this big goof, make him fall face first.
I sat last night and seriously thought about young American heavyweights and where the were by 29 fights and competition. I scratched a bald spot into my melon trying to think of a guy who had faced as empty a resume as Wilders. Just a handful on the sheet that ive seen fight...or just heard of! Mercer? Grant? Morrison? Larry f'n Donald? Seldon? Bowe? Briggs(almost)? Jeremy Williams? Etc etc. I stopped on Lou savarese? The kicker is he is THE last heavyweight Olympic Medalist :-\. There just is NO reason to wallow in this mediocrity seemingly learning absolutely nothing.
Wilder is the HW Tyrone Brunson. Crazy KO record against tomato cans but a knockout waiting to happen
U are so fucking clueless. Kazakhstan is in Asia. So of your list of euro hype jobs you have one European. You also don't seem to realise the difference in areas in Europe. Europeans don't like fighters because they are from Europe. Brits like British fighters, Irish like Irish fighters, Poles like polish fighters, outside that there is no favouritism. I hope Barker gets KOd by Geale, I was delighted when Froch got beaten by ward and I was delighted when Mayweather beat Hatton. It's just you dumbass Americans who think your retarded country is the best in the world at everything.
These guys get praised because of their performance. Wilder looks like a schoolboy in the ring. GGG shows class ring generalship.
You Euros have embraced Lucas,Kovalev and Golovkin as your own, I've never seen a UK fan who doesn't love Golovkin. Golovkin has no head movement he fights so upright that when he eats hard punches from hard hitters it'll be over, that's why I suspect he's been fighting 154 pounders.
If I ask you who are the greats that Golovkin faced at 27 you can't answer, why am I not shocked you love Golovkin but dislike Wilder, the only way you would like Wilder if he was from a former Soviet Republic.
Fighting upright is the style of that area. He learned that as an amateur. His hea movement is ok but you can't say it's bad because he doesn't get hit at all. I say it how it is. You clearly have race issues, I'm not callin u racist, but it's pretty clear you have issues with white people. Fyi, most Europeans dislike other Europeans more the they dislike other nations. English don't like French, Italians, German. Eastern block countries don't like Germans an Russians, and pretty much everyone hates the English.
Campillo went down 2 times vs Cloud, well we now know you can read Boxrec but you obviously did not watch the rest of the fight. Boone lost to Stevens sure but had also just steamrolled some guy named Adonis Stevenson pre Kovalev fight
Not sure why the age of 27 is a point other than that it stacks your deck. Considering Kovalev did not turn pro until he was 26 and had all of 8 fights by then...where as Wilder popped at 23 and has essentially fought his whole career by 27 :cwm13: All he did is manage to extend his list of professional stunt men, ghosts and part time dog washers to a lifetime. Cheers champ.
I was quite impressed by wilder today... looking forward to seeing if he can get to the top and what he can do in the future ! I hope so anyway.
God you are a moron, cause I actually watch fights you think it's boxrec, what Boone got 18 losses, but you think that's a good win huh? Anyway if this was a Euro you would deep throat him but he's black so he can do nothing right.
Let me ask you this moron who has been around boxing longer Broner or Wilder? Deontay got a ton of time.
Onetime does have a point. Lets keep Wilder in perspective. He has a total fight experience, amateur and pro, of less than 150 rounds. As a pro...less than 150 minutes experience. If he was ranked or given a cheesy title shot at this point then I would be on the bus of criticism as well but the guy is greener than a brussel sprout. He took up the sport in his 20s as a basketball reject. I know us Americans want a great heavyweight right now but lets be realistic. Dude needs some years still. He really hasn't learned enough in his pro fights because they average less than 2 rounds per. I know its risky but if I was his trainer I wouldn't be wholeheartedly against him carrying an opponent or two. I bet we can take a poll right now and find that many of us have more fight experience than Wilder.
It really does bug me, Wilder is not being stuffed down our throats and not one person on this board builds him up, so why this need to knock him down. It would be like me picking a Russian prospect and insulting him. Deontay is fighting on ShowBox and learning how to jab from Lennox, but what do you expect though these are the same people who claimed Danny was scared of Lucas.
People pick a random American prospect and attack them, if Wilder was from a former Soviet Republic they would love him and that's the sad truth. Ban me if you just want one kind of fan, I've asked them to give me this amazing resume their favorite boxers have and they give me Boone and Ishida, this is delusion.
People like fighters like Golovkin because he is exciting and appears willing to fight the best in the division, not because he's from some Asian country which I would wage at least 50% of this forum's members couldn't find on a map. And, from what I have seen, they are critical of a guy like Wilder because he seems to have huge gaps in his game and shows no inclination to step up his level of competition while simultaneously running his mouth about how good he is.
I have never seen anything on here to indicate that the colour of someone's skin has anything to do with it.
