Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
I agree the Aj v Wilder could break all ppv records but Wilder is so vulnerable (injury and chin) he could lose at any time so it is better to have it sooner rather than later.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
Wilder needs to overcome Ortiz on November the 4th and then make the fight early April at Wembley stadium.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
I heard Wilder wasn't happy with the November 4th date as hasn't signed the contract. Fight might get pushed to 2018 if it happens at all. I agree with @Master that Wilder is an accident waiting to happen.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
Wilder is 38-0, is already champion, and is already 31. How much longer do we need to wait?

On him? Not at all. But on fight fans receiving it as a MEGA MUST SEE ONCE IN A LIFETIME FIGHT? This needs a bit more....
Where are the good promoters these days? All of Haymon fighters seem to be under-pushed!? Sure, they get a lot of the business done. But, they are always "the other guy", except for Floyd Mayweather.

I agree that this potential MEGA fight should be getting a lot more push than it is.
Promoters nowadays aren't worth a damn.
Say what you will about Don King, but at least he know how to promote.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
It needs to happen as soon as possible, what are we waiting for? They're both unbeaten, they're both champions and they are both exciting so let's just let them fight and see what happens. I think it's a 50/50 fight to be honest and if Wilder stops Ortiz then I'd probably make him favourite.

Spot on with King. You FELT the fight before it happened. Even most recently: You FELT Stiverne vs Arreola even before it happened the first time. You had a sense of it's importance and significance. Even better that the first one literally set up the second one where it was more than what we anticipated. And those two guys weren't even that high up on King's list of guys he brought to the public eye.
You can FEEL a King fight. But nowadays, you can't feel anything. Even Bob Arum was halfway decent. But now, it's like... bleh!!!

Rumour has it Jacob's vs Lee could be on the undercard of Wilder/ Ortiz.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
In all fairness I'd rather scrap the mandatory defenses and all that bollocks and throw them in against each other tomorrow
They are the holders, they are supposedly the best, they should be fighting the best.
I know that it isn't their fault but I'd rather see AJ v Wilder now rather than in 18 months time

I used to think of King and Arum as snake oil salesmen. Now I wish we had a few of those still around. ;D
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
Shaefer fits that bill. Oscar to an extent.
Re: Before Wilder/Joshua...
In a way with the right marketing and "marinating" this could break the ppv record especially if AJ fought in USA before he meets Wilder.
I would be glad to see Floyd's record broken so quickly.

Is Wilder even PPV in the states?
