Jamie Moore v Zaurbek Baysangurov EBU light-Middleweight title
December the 8th before the Hatton fight and it's on Sky so I've heard, should be a good fight and a good step up for Moore (28-3) against Baysangurov (16-0) who is undefeated, former WBC International champ and a former IBF youth champion so should be interesting, although I would like to see Moore v Bradley Pryce at some stage.
Your thoughts ???
Re: Jamie Moore v Zaurbek Baysangurov EBU light-Middleweight title
This is one that I'm really looking forward to, and I really think that Jamie Moore has developed greatly as a fighter, and although his last time out was really just to shake off the ring-rust, I think he's a smarter boxer than he was in younger days, and might have the maturity to match Baysangurov's young fire.
The difficulty in analysing this one is that Baysangurov has received absolutely zero coverage in the UK but he has won the last two fights...his first two over 12 rounds and claimed the European title at a very early age, and although he's got a 75% KO ratio, he hasn't delivered that in the last two fights so even his power might just be an illusion of less illustrious opponents.
So in conclusion...I don't know. I want Moore to win, and I think he probably should, but we saw what happened with Kiko Martinez v Bernard Dunne, but then again my gut will say Moore will achieve this one, as a stepping stone to the world title shot he really wants.

I'm assuming this has been called off since we've heard nothing about it?

Yeh its off, Baysangurov is injured - not sure exactly what the problem is.

You have to feel sorry for Jamie Moore....after his win against Matthew Macklin which gave him a huge fanbase, he really hasn't been able to capitalise on that and get any meaningful title shots. This was really just a stepping stone, but its turned out to be yet another step back.
Anyone have any experience of how long a fractured cheekbone can take to heal?
Re: Jamie Moore v Zaurbek Baysangurov EBU light-Middleweight title
Will this fight happen?
Upon it's cancellation I heard it will happen as soon as both men are fit, yet I've heard nothing since. I thought it was just a cut?

I'm sure that I read on fightnews that it was a broken cheekbone. My doctor housemate tells me they can heal in as little as 6 weeks, but throw in retraining time, sparring etc I don't see it happening before March/April.

Your doctor mate called it the "zygomatic arch" trying to sound professional didn't he!
Spent all this morning in hospital and I have developed a sudden dislike for doctors nurses and all staff within the walls of those fortresses of misery.
