Story time- I loved that dog: Prayer still works!
I gat another God/dog story. Lol... bear with me because this is sappy! :P
I had just gotten my dog Rocky. No more than two weeks when my uncle dropped him off to me and all of a sudden, he fell ill just like my previous puppies. I couldn't take another heartache or furball failure on my conscience, which would make it three in the space of a year.
Because it was a "gift" from my uncle I was frantic to keep Rocky alive. But day after day he just kept losing weight and refusing to eat. Went to feeding him with a syringe and all... ππΏπ©
But one night I took him to the back of the house and I prayed for him and over him and cried. ππΏππ’
Imagine, a grown man like me praying and crying over a one month old puppy? πππ€¦πΏ*βοΈ
Well... when I was done he curled next to me and smiled. π¬.. yea, Rocky smiled. (Will share a pic of him smiling later)
And the next morning from what I thought was a near death puppy turned into a slightly hungry puppy...ππΏπ
I took him to the veterinarian a day after that and the vet told me Rocky was okay. π³
Just feed him the vet told me... Bloody hell. Cost me $50 just for the vet to put a thermometer up his bum and to tell me that?
Well I kept Rocky for about 8/9 years after that. And from my history, I "needed" him. ππΏπ
All of Rocky's siblings and parents died well before he did. Years before he did. My uncle was shocked at how long I kept him.
Prayer still works. For any and all things great and small.
π

What kind of arsehole God saves your puppy but not all the hundreds of thousands of human babies with cancer etc despite their parents fervent prayers? Asking for a friend.

I agree, like a gambler only tells you about his big wins never about his losses, a religious type only tells us his prayers were answered when its convenient.
Never do we hear when prayers are not answered.
e.g. Its a miracle a baby was pulled alive from the earthquake rubble 4 days after the event.
But i guess god caused the earthquake in the first place that killed thousands lol
If any religious types here want to pray for an end to the war in Ukraine feel free.
Religion is all bullshit.
Re: Story time- I loved that dog: Prayer still works!
Come on lads, it's not bollocks, God fucked Mary and had a son who died for your sins.
Re: Story time- I loved that dog: Prayer still works!
all beliefs are just that until everyone can verify them to be true themselves. ykdadamaja is just putting his faith and trust in what he has been told and choosing to believe. no problem with that at all. problem is he has now made a claim that god is real and it is his responsibility to provide details on how he has proved this claim true, so we can all verify the claim for ourselves

Like I said, the creator of the universe fucked Mary and had a son who died for your sins. I support anyone's right to believe this.
Re: Story time- I loved that dog: Prayer still works!
people can believe anything they like, as long as they realize it's only a belief. if you want to claim something is real you need to prove it

Had a client say to me on Saturday "I really pray to God they have time to give him a bath". Her dag was boarding, she had no appointment made and we were slammed. But I literally mumbled to her.."Pray, is that what you pray for when it's all said and done" then I realized how loud I was talking as she looked at me like I had a third eyeball in my forehead before leaving.
Just odd how people throw that around. There should be an answerable tax due...lightning strikes work too... when invoking religion and divine intervention for silly shat.

lol.... what do you want me to say? God works in mysterious ways. I guess its the same God that allowed Rocky to die too? He is who he is... the great I AM!
I tend to look at it like this, there is a greater purpose and who am I to unwrap what that is? What I want for dinner tomorrow is too much for me, let alone the grand design of human evolution and life within itself.
Leave it alone. Such high thoughts are too much for you or I.

Who wants to hear bad news? LOL! Well, many times he does not give me what I want and it may be better for me in retrospect. I wanted to get married years ago, but luckily it had not worked out because there are some things about me that I need to work out.
Also, I wanted to delve deeper into politics, and I am glad God steered me away from that for the time being because I don't have the mentality for it. So be thankful in all things. You can learn from any and all things.
