Damn...that's rough glad you made it down safely.
There has to be nothing better though than being in big sky country and watching a storm roll through. It is a dream of mine to get out there to Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, the great plains of the Dakotas...beautiful country out there.
We've had some issues in our mountains from all the rain with Tropical storm Alberto. Mud/Rockslides, flash flooding, etc....in my area we've been getting great rainfall, it's been wonderful for the garden.
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
We have had a very wet spring. Put that on top of record snowfall across the state and the rivers are running very high. There is still a lot of snow on the mountains; we added some last Friday night.
I like a good thunderstorm. Arizona has some good ones. I'd love to spend a monsoon season up in Pinetop or Springerville.
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
One day last week we had rain, snow and hail in the same day, within about three hours. In June. It has been raining down here and snowing in the mountains since Friday night.
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
It's been very warm here, but hell it's supposed to be it's the south and we've had amazing humidity recently. The thunderstorms we get are great to cool things down, but it's like going from sauna to steam room when we have those.
Hopefully the hurricane season isn't too bad for all of us in harms way. I also hope for fewer tornadoes but we'll see what happens.

Amen to that, my friend.
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
Hurricane Lane now bearing down on Hawaii. Was surprised to hear they've only had two major hurricane landfalls in all of recorded history. Granted, it's a huge ocean and Hawaii is a small target. Hoping they're spared the worst and Lane can go off into the middle of the Pacific and peter out.

Good news is Lane couldn't handle his hype. Looks like it totally fell apart and hopefully just a rain event. Much like yourself I always enjoy watching category 4s and 5s flop. "Lava bombs" and eruptions..now hurricanes. Hawaii deserves a break.
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
Nothing compared to the big stuff but we keep getting these heatwaves with killer humidity and daily bouts of rain which makes it worse. We are riding into one this week again. It really saps my energy
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
Anyone want a few extra cases of water and 6 loaves of bread? They actually closed School for 3 days because of 'Gordan' that is in the process of crawling ashore right now.
Sun was out most of the day. Every single time we go into SHTF mode once a system forms I think I ignore them even more ;D. Mississippi will take the brunt of rain. Time to rotate the batteries and cans for next week ;D.

Japan are having it really bad at the moment with tornados.

That's bad because I am headed to Osaka in about a month and I can't afford there to be any damage

I am sure they will have everything cleared up for you by then. You are their priority.

I wouldn't go that far with it. I think Fukushima and the Fallout and all that is perhaps slightly more important
Re: The Nasty Weather Thread
Tropical Storm Gordon made landfall in Mississippi..... but has since weakened to a tropical depression. Good. I hope it's just a few harsh breezes before the day's out.

I have just realised why there are either no or very few Muslims in Japan. They are not allowed to bow so social situations must be a bit awkward ;D:rules::karate::allhail::bounce:
