Haney v Linares
On on Saturday, I like Haney he's still a bit young and probably should have done better in his last couple PoF fights but wotever, Linares is a handy git although he's getting old and was stopped in the first round AA couple of years ago when he ventured up five quid, back at 135 now and even though he's won a few in a row the old gits usually don't do so well going back down in weight classes.

Re: Haney v Linares
Linares beat up plenty of our UK fighters and made enough money from Eddie. Always been a fan of his even before that because he is technically beautiful to watch. The jab and uppercuts are punch perfect. Really hope he puts up a good performance but expect him to get beat.
It will be interesting to see how Haney, who is supposed to be the future, manages this fight.

This!
Had such high hopes for him. IMO he is reminds me of a fighter named Carlos Quintana. Both were nifty boxers. & neither are NOT Durable.
Not iffy chins, their bodies can't take it.
Out of nowhere Haney will either cut or swell up Linares (while Jorge is doing good work)

Not too much on the undercard... Again..

Quigley v Shane mosley Jr is alright and I think I heard about the American with albanian name before, never seen him though, so no idea if he's any good.

Re: Haney v Linares
Man this snuck up didn't it? Why in the world are some of these very attractive name fights so stuck under the radar???. One of the freshest talents in a rich division v one of the most respected boxer-punchers and skilled grey beards in the sport. This indeed is Haney's chance to enter another tier and breakout as other young guns at 135 have done so. Master and Slim put it well regarding Linares. Best and worst of both worlds in what you would love to have in a fighter. I think he can match Haney with speed, power and surpass with better timing and ring savvy but somehow he just seems jinxed and his 'flesh' fails at times in the ugliest ways. Back at 135 is right and he had no business going 140 getting smashed v a bulldozer on and off 147 Cano. But one thing I haven't seen from Haney at all that others brought v Linares is that killer instinct and physicality. Kid is young and deepest he's been is war horse Gamboa where he settled and seemed to coast it out. Literally nothing remotely close to Linares overall for what that's worth. I think if he tries to ride out Linares, be cute and backfoot he's playing with fire. Linares is a threat every second of every round and if he's rocked and dropped Haney must become the door kicker and close it right out. This will all come down to his approach. I love upsets they make the boxing world go round, but going with an edge to Haney to step up his game and to have done his homework for the win.

Re: Haney v Linares
Broadcast started now, Seb Coe v some chubby guy who was stopped just now early in the second round, for anyone who cares.

Re: Haney v Linares
South African chap stops ward (Martin Joseph not Andre), he turned it up pretty good at the end, looks fairly handy... Nice quick right kook for the first knockdown a few rounds earlier.

Re: Haney v Linares
Wouldn't be shocked if Quigley wins this a bit comfortably but been wrong before :-X. Should be good. Nice to see Bones Adams picking up the training chops. Quigley already have a black right eye before the bell rings???

Re: Haney v Linares
Well there ya go ;D. 2-1 Mosley just get the feeling Quigley can really put the power on of the two. Mosley doesn't react well
-
Re: Haney v Linares
Good 5th for Mosley doing what he needs to. Hands of Quigley not doing him any good if he isn't trying to fill those holes on Mosley as he jumps in wide. Now or never Quigley
-
Re: Haney v Linares
Quigley 6th needs to get on it constant. Both these guys should avoid Jaime Munguia
-
Re: Haney v Linares
Good 7th both guys rattled! gave to Quigley cleaner overall. Don't wanna hog thread, round goes by, opinion-score, rinse repeat :-X. Decent 8th for Quigley but choppy round by both so coin flip it.

Re: Haney v Linares
Mosley 9th have to say he inherited Pops chin. Scores will be a clusterfeck
