That is a pathetic choice of opponent. Whyte must have some big fight lined up for a title to be taking this no risk fight. Is it Wilder?
Decent matchup really. Who gives a flying fuck about Whyte? He's gone backwards since the AJ fight, and I reckon that could well have been the peak of his career.
Dangerous slaughter here. Grant should retire NOW:confused:
This is terrible. I can see Whyte wanting to remain active but there's no resistance here. Kind of pointless really. A spectacular KO doesn't really do much as it is more than expected, if he struggles in anyway it could hurt him.
I honestly thought this was a proposed hypothetical of early hopefuls :-X. Arum has really stacked this card with guys on the end or coming back from big L's. Alvarado, Jennings, Walters. All about Whyte coming to America and bashing up a willing but horribly faded name. Feels like a lack of certainty by Whytes people and promotion letting him dig up old bones to make a splash.
The most surprising part is Grant has won as recently as 2011.
What are people moaning about? Old Grant's health or Whyte's poor opponent?
If it's the latter then - It's an 8-round non-TV warmup fight. This shit has gone on since the dawn of time, it has always been the done thing, however, todays fans seem to think boxing was invented at the same time they got their broadband connection.
We are so spoilt today being able to watch every single fight and follow every fighters every move, that these guys today can't even have a low-key leg stretcher to pot a few quid in their bin without getting pelters. Ridiculous
I don't actually think its a bad opponent anyway, could be competitive
he stands to gain little mind
Edddie's been all over Twitter saying it wont be Grant because of the backlash.
Im concerned about Whyte and agree that he's going backwards. You cant knock the guy for trying to better himself and he really is trying. But for me he's training the best qualities out of himself. He's got a touch of the Froch about him in that he thinks he's a boxer, what he actually is is a hard cunt with a good chin and decent dig. He should embrace it. Froch woke up, so should Whyte before a Del Boy type fight goes against him and he starts losing boxing matches when he should have been winning fights.
@Fenster should be a promoter.
Good on Eddie for looking elsewhere.
