I understand that the names on his list aren’t the best, but he absolutely destroyed them. He made people look amateurish.

I think we are in a good place in boxing right now where there are a lot of really good fighters. I do agree though that their competition isn’t near what fighters from the past were. It’s unfortunate that a lot of these fighters aren’t getting career defining fights. Sometimes it is their fault but sometimes it isn’t.Quote:

My p4p #1 would be either Crawford or Inoue. But if you put AJ’s best 3 wins (Wlad, Povetkin and Parker Whyte.) then If you judged it with this formula, that would stack up pretty well against Crawford.
But would you put AJ above Crawford? Like I said, it’s interesting.

I certainly wouldn't put AJ above Crawford, I wouldn't have any heavyweight on a P4P list (unless they're exceptional), defeats the purpose. However, it depends on the criteria.Quote:

I think that people underrate Gamboa. He was a force at featherweight. He never proved to have slowed down before the Crawford fight. He still destroyed all of his opponents. Also, Gamboa went all out and Crawford proved that he could take it and give it back. It was a trial by fire that he passed.
True enough one thing that comes to mind with Gamboa is he always had top notch reflex. He's exciting can't deny that. But he also received a ton of stroke and push hoping that he would fulfill the hype. Really he had terrible balance and defense and was prone to being rocked and dropped by the same punch in many of those early fights. He blew weight more than once and blew opportunities walking away from all but made million dollar fight and promotion after good win with De Leon to only lose massive time to lawsuit. Personally hated the Solis fight with the last thing we see is Solis eating a big fat pizza on fight day as he was draining down for fight and Gamboa had fattened up to point of refusing re weigh. He was very fortunate to be glued back together in what was Crawfords homecoming showcase and he did in fact go all out but another year of inactivity and weight were predictable anchors.Quote:

I rate Gamboa as Crawford's best win too. Postol clear second and Khan/Beltran third (one is by far the superior name, the other in better form at the time).
I was going to put Walters because of those very same reasons you mentioned and I had been very impressed by him. However the man has essentially retired from the game and never fought since that loss. At least Russell Jr has done well and remained undefeated.Quote:

I still think that Russell is Loma’s best win. Russell is the only one to have proven to have been legit even after their fight. I know you can argue that he ruins careers but Russell showed that he wasn’t a fraud.
The Walters situation with Loma was weird. I felt like it was supposed to be a great fight but Walters had a long layoff and looked completely off from the beginning. Maybe Loma just made him look silly and frustrated him early, but I don’t think that Walters looked competent even before Loma did anything.
I could be wrong, but I just think that Loma caught Walters at a perfect time. It’s unfortunate too because I wish they could have fought when Walters was seen as a p4p fighter.
I'd have Inoue at 1, with his 3 fights at 118 I guess.
