Just started again.
People, I posted something similar on the boxing forum yesterday before realising there was a training section. I have started boxing again at the age of 29 having not done it for 13 years. I has been great being back in the gym and I am loving the traning / sparring. Most of the other guys in the gym are late teens / early 20's. Though I only initially came back for fitness I am thinking about competing in the amatuers.
What I want to know is am I now really to old to be fighting as an amateur. I don't want to be seen as a bully type fighting younger less physical guys. Should I fight again or just use it for exercise.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: Just started again.
IMO, if you make weight, you have just as much right to be in there as anyone else. If they can't take the heat, they should get out of the kitchen. Having said that, I do believe there are amateur leagues based on age, and probably experience.

Re: Just started again.
I'm turning 29 in april 07 and I too aspire to compete in amatuers. Just keep doing your thing. Mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter.
