@Andre
Texas Independence Day is the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836. With this document, settlers in Mexican Texas officially broke from Mexico, creating the Republic of Texas. Texas Independence Day is an official holiday in the state of Texas.
In 1845 it joined the United States as the 28th state.

Q: Why did Forrest Gump choose 'Bama over UT?
A: He wanted an academic challenge!
Re: Happy Texas Independence Day!!!!
The thread is about Texas (tu) not Tennessee (UT) and Gigem Aggies the real flagship University of Texas.
Re: Happy Texas Independence Day!!!!
Just trying to give you silly Texan's some flack.
I actually lived a summer in Texas and I liked it (for the most part).

We're not silly, more like ridiculous. :rolleyes:
I've lived most of my adult life here in East Texas, after living quite a few years elsewhere. There's things I like about Texas and some things I don't, but overall it's a damn good place to live, get an education, have a business, and raise a family. Texas is a conservative dominated state, people are friendly, but we don't put up with criminals and liberal bullshit here. BTW, only 42% of Texans voted to re-elect Comrade Obama last November, amazing when you figure how many freeloading blacks and poor Hispanic voters we have on welfare & disability here. It's another reason why I like living here, and not in one of the ass-raped liberal States on the West Coast, or North East.

Who's blaming them for anything? It's just a fact that, that's where a big block of Obama's votes came from in Texas. They want to keep those food stamps, welfare checks, health care and other entitlements rolling in.
Re: Happy Texas Independence Day!!!!
Sometimes people just get tired of all the Republican bigotry is all.
I am out of this thread. You all can keep Texas.

I wish all liberals thought like you do, i'd love to see a mass exodus of them out of Texas. ;)
