Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
3 live cards tonight, DAZN, FOX and ESPN and we're dead as a doornail here :-X. Wanted to see Devin Haney but not dropping coin for DAZN until next month. Ito makes his 2nd defense of his wbo strap after dismantling the much talked about Christopher Diaz. Herring is decent and has done well to regroup after a rough patch a couple of years ago, he has his work cut out for him here. Jose Pedraza back in action v Ines Antonio Torres in the co main. We'll see if espn starts on time.

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Pedraza very sharp first two round. Didn't realize he was going up to 140 seems a bit odd. Lozada Jr really long and lean walking in on him. Not to jinx Pedraza but he looks like Linares here, right down to the hair cut ;D. Very few jabs from him and choosing to stand in and sharp shoot counter end of third.
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Jab really absent for Pedraza in 4th. Lozada has the pressure part down but little technique and idea on his delivery. Nice little rally from him, smothers everything but went a little Paul Williams there. Solid defense, slip roll and counters from Pedraza. Pedraza looking to rip inside the more this guy barges in with that head hanging over. Scrapy approach from Pedraza
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Lozada complains about his head of all things to ref and ref obliges him twice by warning Pedraza. Pedraza walked him down and raked him over churning those hands inside entire 7th. Lozada ends round with low blow :-X

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
The woman's fight on the dazn card was actually quite entertaining, some pretty good punches landed, it really seems that women boxers really lack the strength and stamina to finish fights though, a few of those punches really should have done more damage... Fun to watch though... Haney on now....he's pretty good, seems like a fairly smart fellow too, I like him... Cock knocker Corbin didn't even get in any low blows:S
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Ref with another warning while Pedraza was landing like a kid with a broom stick on a piñata. Landing at will, Lozada has few answers but credit for huge brass. Pedraza is doing a savage number on his body at this point, very solid display.

Referee in the Haney fight has a day job at gringotts Bank or warwick Davies stunt double :S
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
That was a brutal tko. Pedraza looks like a fookin man possessed ;D off that. Short left drops Lozada on his trunks and his Father steps in to stop it as he's being teed off on in corner. Good on his pop for seeing the obvious

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Pedraza is a good fighter but will never get to the top of his division. He did well against Loma but obviously is nowhere near his level. If he moves up, he won’t be able to hang with the top guys.
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Haney is also very young, so he's going to keep those fast reflexes for quite some time... He isn't so assured when speaking live on camera but he seems pretty smart on non live interviews, I like the git

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
These kind of “title” fights are just frustrating. Let’s be honest, neither of these guys are at all considered the best at the weight.
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
He really named himself after Judge Ito from the Simpson trial ???. Hard work coming for Herring. For Anthems I could listen to the Japanese anthem a few times.

Yeh he kept it respectable showing with Loma. Loma jumps up I think division is there for the taking honestly, lots of good mix ups.

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Herring looks to have pocketed these early rounds. Boxing tall and moving very well, Ito can't find a southpaw and a step behind.
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Ito is just looking for a big punch. Herring isn’t really doing much other than using the jab better
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
5-0 Herring and admittedly bit surprised, Ito can't do shat here :-X. He's constantly left out of position. Semper Fi boxing smart
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Nice close to 6th for Ito but needs to work much more. Accepting these clinches getting Herring closer. Herring really laying in here
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Ito 7th and 8th me thinks, really becoming an inside tussle and Herring initiating most of it. He's checked the over head cam-clock a few times
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
It looks like Ito is starting to come on a little bit. Herring looks tired. We will see if he can keep this up. He should be winning pretty easily on the scorecards.

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
I know that Berchelt wants the winner of this fight. So far it looks like it would be an easy night for him either way. Neither guy is impressive
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Think Ito needs to ko going into final round. been in and out but feels like 7-4 Herring. Dopes chanting usa like we're still at war with Japan ;D. 'Murica. These cards will be all over

Agreed, Berchelt is seriously slept on.

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Close fight but I think Herring pulled it out. Not very impressed with him though

Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
Herring earned this one, cannot see anything reasonably closer than 115-113. If that.
-
Re: Masayuki Ito v Jamel Herring ESPN
118-110 twice. Wow. Good little "upset" keeps the boxing world going around.

Herring beats Ito to claim WBO super-featherweight title
Jamel Herring upset Masayuki Ito by unanimous decision to win the WBO super-featherweight title in Florida on Saturday.
Herring (20-2) took control after an even start in Kissimmee to claim a surprise victory.
Judges scored the fight 118-110, 118-110 and 116-112 in the American's favour, ending Ito's 10-month reign as champion.

Herring put Ito down with a right hook in the 11th round, but it was ruled a slip after the 28-year-old's glove touched the canvas.
The American had already dominated most of the fight, however, before judges awarded him his victory.
For Ito (25-2-1), it was his first defeat since 2015.
