if your a Righty fighting a Righty.
when he throws the jab block it with right hand, when he throws the straight right slip it to the outside of his shoulder while moving close to him. when his arm is extended your head should be by his shoulder. As hes bringing his arm back you moving away from him with a left hook on his chin.
you wanna try to get behind his peripheral when you do this because what a boxer doesnt see coming hurts
if you execute this well and know how to pull his body to you with your legs when throwing a hook so that he falls foward it will set him up for a beautiful right upper cut.
you should already be set up to throw a powerful upper cut after the hook.
this also works for just countering straight rights

two things:
1. what do you do if he throws a circularized right hand that cannot be slipped; rather your head slips directly into the punch catching you flush on the side of the head?
or
2. what would you do if he doesnt want to throw a 1-2 anymore as you keep penalizing him for this action via the counetrpunch you have described? what do you do then? counterpunching is a two part affair i.e you cant counter the punch if he doesnt want to throw it. so how do we make him throw punches?

If by circulized right you mean something like a hook then you duck and hook to the body.
Sometimes people learn from there mistakes and learn to throw things differently or not all if their getting penalized for it. This means you've done your job and its time adapt your game

Light I can see you're keen, but all this counter this and do that dont happen. Its an ongoing evolving process,of learning with a coach in a gym and the knowledge you aqiure in the process. motorized habits,emotional turmoil, being able to handle crises. Thats what a good coach does.At the end of the day, when youv,e been hit and and are on your arse looking up it puts a whole new perspective on the whole thing . Regards
