Re: Happy St Patricks Day
My family (well half of it) came to the US during the Irish famine, I have corned beef in the slow cooker as we speak, I'm gonna make some beautiful sandwiches tonight, might pick up a bottle of non alcoholic Irish beer, I know it sounds stupid but I don't drink alcohol, maybe I have twice in the last ten years, anyway, May the wind be always on your back.
Re: Happy St Patricks Day
I totally missed this, went out for a beer with a old friend and i got served a green beer and i thought what the fuck. so i asked whats up, and they told me it was st patricks day... i thought it wasn't that long ago i celebrated it!
Re: Happy St Patricks Day
Does anyone here believe in Leprechauns? Nothing wrong believing these stuffs. This may sound stupid to some but I think people should keep their sense of wonderment in their heart. I always try to keep this supernatural sense in my heart, if you know what I mean. It'll make your heart open to any possibility. I don't want my heart and mind to be restricted by limits of the known or what the science have proven, it's kind of stuffy for me. I want my heart and mind to be open to any, or unlimited, possibility...
Re: Happy St Patricks Day
had some nice grey goose colored green with green schweppes tonic.

Re: Happy St Patricks Day
St Patrick's Day is the biggest day of the year in Butte. Last year it was well below zero and the world looked like a hockey rink. This year it rained hard all day and night. That is because my friend shaved his head on the 16th.
St Urho's day, the 16th went well enough, I guess. That is the Finnish version of St Patrick's day. Some group in Bemidji, Minnesota, claims to have originated the observance of this holiday in the 1950s, but it has been celebrated here for well over 100 years. My personal belief is that it was invented because the Finns were jealous that the Irish had a drinking holiday, and they wanted one too. By celebrating them on consecutive days, nobody has any reason to sober up for at least half the week, what with getting warmed up, hair of the dog and all.

Happy St Paddies day to everyone else who uses it as an excuse to get pissed. I have got the lurgy but still managed to go and shoot my mates afternoon St Patricks Day set before their big show tonight.
"Sláinte mhaith!
Go raibhe mile maith agat.
In recovery mode now after hitting the juice hard yesterday. Cracking day though. Hope everyone enjoyed.

Re: Happy St Patricks Day
Usually one of the busiest days of the years for me but a very quiet one here in 2020. Sláinte mhaith! however you are celebrating it.
Re: Happy St Patricks Day
Birmingham have cancelled their event but the bull in the Bullring is dressed as a shamrock. :)
Re: Happy St Patricks Day
Weird but most of Ireland is locked down and my friends and family there are not going out and while I would usually be shooting an outdoor gig with hundreds of pissed up partying revellers (huge Celtic connections here in the city and across both counties) am at home for the first Paddies day in 5 years.
Dropkick Murphys live streaming an audience free gig in two hours here though - http://www.dropkickmurphys.com/2020/...y-live-stream/

All our local festivities were shut down, even the bars have had to close.
