Mosley says PBF and Canelo have about the same punching power
I thought that was interesting. Does Floyd hit harder than most people give him credit for, or is Canelo not a big puncher at 154?

Re: Mosley says PBF and Canelo have about the same punching power
Floyd does not have the power of Alvarez, Shane has taken too many punches. :)
Re: Mosley says PBF and Canelo have about the same punching power
Yeah, I saw an interview of Mosley saying that too. I always figured Floyd hit harder than the public opinion but he just doesn't sit on his punches a lot throughout a fight because of his movement. Against Mosley he sat down a lot more on his punches than usual so Mosley got a good gauge of those punches. I think they do hit close to the same but Canelo throws more of his harder punches a lot more often and this gives the impression of being a harder puncher. Its a percentage game. Floyd can hit you with 4 or 5 of his 70 percenters and only take 1 or your 90 percenters. (Most hit and not be hit shots probably teeter around 70 percent of your power)
Re: Mosley says PBF and Canelo have about the same punching power
Yeah, I thought it was silly when people were saying "ohhh Mosley stopped fighting." No, Floyd made him stop fighting with his precision countering and POWER. Floyd's no Matthysse but he can keep guys honest for sure.

He's been hit by both guys and still sounds articulate, so I dunno... Maybe Saul isn't as big a puncher as we give him credit for.

I watched Matthew Hatton in a weight too high walk through Alvarez punches. I also watched a very boring fight vs Mosely.
Alvarez looks to me another Abraham thats strong in the weight hes boiling down to but will be nothing at all in the weight above.

Good point and you may be right.

He was the only man to put Trout down.

Well then id say he was intimidated by Shanes speed and by fuck he's going to be just like Abraham (a turtle in his shell) if that is the case.

Trout is as fast as Shane and he did not cover up he attacked smartly.

Well to be honest the only fights iv seen of Alvarez were the Hatton fight where I was wondering what the big deal was. Then the Rhodes fight which wasn't a great deal better and then the Mosley fight which was so boring I kept nodding off.
It may be a biased point of view but this upcoming fight doesn't fill me with anticipation in the slightest. To be honest although the scores were wide I felt Marquez was the only person to have the sense to not let that lean back defence deter him. He kept throwing shots. Same as Cotto. I just cannot see Alvarez doing the same.

True but Trout himself never really fought anyone outside of a washed up Cotto.
Re: Mosley says PBF and Canelo have about the same punching power
He has a lot of power against light-flyweights though, ask Ulises Solis hehe
