Boxing Trivia (What only Hardcore fans know)
I'm sure there are some minds on this site that know some obscure shit most don't know.
Did you know that Bernard the Xecutioner Hopkins:
1. Accepted his fifth fight- televised appearance vs Jovin Mercado, on four hours notice
2. And called himself Bernard THE TERROR Hopkins
No clinching occurred, he loathed it ...back then.

Before that he tried out "The Italian Stallion" and "The Asian Sensation" but they just didn't fit for some reason.

Some interesting tidbits about TEX RICKARD
Boxing's first major promoter
Tex Rickard was friends to cowboy legend Wyatt Earp who was the star in the (great movie Tombstone)
Rickard eventually upstarted a franchise in the National Hockey League called the New York Americans
...but...
the press who knew Tex Rickard well as a promoter in Madison Square Garden once called the team 'Tex's Rangers', and the nickname stuck.
Rickard was the first promoter to grossed millions – With Dempsey, they made over$ 8. million in only five fights between 1921 and 1927 and ushered in the "golden age" via the first live radio broadcast of a title-fight
For those who love “wrasslin”
Rickard worked with another promoter named Jess McMahon grandfather of who would become the king of 'wrasslin' promoters...
WWE’s Vince McMahon ;D

First PPV to headline a junior flyweight fight:

Joking about Jermain Taylor going to prison, I forgot there was a fight or two televised from prisons
One being: Rahway State Prison Dwight Braxton's 16th pro fight. After defeating Saad Muhhamad he changed his name to Muhhamad Qawi.

Are you sure, Master? What about Billy Walker back in the 1960's? I might be wrong, but I thought he was the first guy to earn a million without ever fighting for the world title?

Not sure if non-Americans know this
Golden age fighter Max Baer's son went on to become a legend in American comedy known as Jethro Bodine starring in a show called the Beverly Hill-Billies.
The smartest one of the family: Jethro knew his gazintas.

I won't do a search:
1.either his self titled movie, Ali the greatest.
2. Special appearance with Leon Kennedy's movie . Cant think of the name. Ali helped train Leon the lover who fights a stereotype Mexican named madman Santiago....Oh...Body and Soul!
