Was waiting for someone to post this. Ryan Garcia is a brutal KO waiting to happen. He is worse than Lucian Bute in my mind. Untested and a bit too much sizzle with no fry.

You look up Jake Paul and it's YouTuber first, social media personality 2nd, and professional boxer 3rd. Not exactly an appealing resume to any serious boxing fan.
Fact remains that Ryan has yet to do jack in boxing... but the media continues fawning over him.
i thought the point was hype proceeding reality. jake paul is headlining boxing cards. i thought knocking out luke was pretty good
jake paul is headlining boxing cards Just goes to show how f*cked up boxing is nowadays. Divas and social media stars pass for heroes today.
i thought knocking out luke was pretty good Oh sure. One pretty good fight and he's talking fighting exhibitions with Pacquiao. Hey... but at least he's big on Instagram, eh? :D
knocking out luke is more than yet to do jack in boxing
To a millennial such as yourself it might be... because to you, one fight already defines a career. But to the rest of us, who
do know about boxing... it classifies as having "yet to do jack in boxing."
Hope this helps. ;)
where did i say one fight already defines a career chico bean? you're starting with the lies again & making up shit. knocking out an olympic gold medalist, two time world title challenger. something loma & jorge couldn't do was a pretty good win & already more than yet to do jack in boxing
You're angry again. :D
Not my fault YDKSAB, and rate Ryan on one "pretty good" fight.
just highlighting you lying & making things up chico bean. where do i rate him? it was a pretty good win
Back to the point. It's about hype precending reality.
One "pretty good fight" does not warrant the hype Ryan has been getting.
Saying he hasn't done "jack" in boxing... since this must be explained to you kindergarten style... is a way to put his accomplishments against others in comparative terms.
It's actually
my fault for assuming your pea brain can grasp concepts like "comparative" and perspective.
If you're going to take everything that is said literally... you're even more stupid than I thought.
so a pretty good win is more than doing jack yeh?

And that's supposed to get a rise out of me? Damn... you crawl out from under your rock to say the most asinine things.
Verdejo got caught... is in jail... and his life and career are practically over. But before that... he never fit the checklist from the opening post. A fact lost on someone who DKSAB.

It wasn't meant to get a rise out of you. But it obviously did. Why else would you PM me like a little bitch who got her feelings hurt? Only a fucking loser like you would take this shit so seriously.

In boxing so easy to fall for the hype guy. Unlike other sports where they have to face all in their division.
If I may digress- I remember one standout in the NFL- Daunte Cullpepper -OG every commentator on how calm & smart he is. yet this big ass dude gets sacked by lone defenders 1/2 his size!
Back to topic, didn't see much on Ryan to question your position, so it appears another one exposed?!

Yikes! I guess I fell for the Bute hype...for a moment at least. I liked his body punching, but he either got exposed or provided a massive blueprint on defeating him.
One example comes to mind for me that I felt was a HYPE job from day one was a kid named jason litzau. American kid. I think..It was ESPN.
All they did was claim he was the coming of Rocky Marciano, Rocky Balboa all rollled into one!;D
At 5'10...I felt he was -as we call it now a weight bully and when he finally gets to fight a foe with power- or forced to move up. he would be exposed.
Had Jason won a title, I think a movie would have been in the works- via Tom Cruise;D
Re: Ryan: Another case of hype preceding reality
Adrian Broner was a worthy hype job that didnt get exposed as a flawed fighter rather exposed as too lazy to train hard, too arrogant to see he was damn good, but not great enough to be the champ many felt he could be _(edit) by emulating Floyd. He needed more than that.
As Tim Bradley said to Broner's face -man if I had your power, your speed....man....

You make a good point about other sports, Slim. I can't think of another sport where a young-un is already wearing crowns and wanting to bypass years of coming up through the ranks to face ATG's in exhibitions. In other sports you have to EARN that kind of shat. I don't blame the fighters, as much as I blame everyone around them. Media... handlers... promoters... even the fans. Eager to anoint someone before their time because of a) their looks, b) their skills in the gym, c) their personality, d) their connections, or e) all of the above.
In the NFL (since you brought it up)... a #1 draft pick QB has one good game against a regular season opponent... nobody rushes to put crowns on the dude or compare him with the Bradys and Montanas of the world. Dude still has to EARN his accolades. Hype may precede reality to a point... but it quickly comes crashing down once the season begins.
I think it's generational. Many today can't be bothered with "process", "earning", or "growth." It all has to be NOW. Instant gratification. Takes a gargantuan amount of patience to put up with some of this shat.
