Is Lennox Lewis one of the worst announcers?
I’m off today so I’m watching some old fights right now it’s Spence vs Porter. I like PBC and it’s presentation but I can never make out a damn thing Lennox Lewis says. All respect to Lennox, great fighter, seems like a genuinely nice guy but that monotone voice just doesn’t make it a couple inches past my TV speaker. Am I alone in this? Maybe it’s my TV’s fault. As far as I know my hearing is ok.

No, you are not alone. Lennox was a great champion but not a good commentator as say Paulie.
Re: Is Lennox Lewis one of the worst announcers?
For some reason I find him more bearable with PBC than when he was with HBO. Maybe because he's with Joe Goosen and Brian Kenny now who make me feel like some greasy close talker car salesman is pushing a 'just like new' 1988 Chevrolet Chevette on me :action:.

Paulie gotta be a million times better than Lewis. Even when I try to tune everything else out and just hear Lewis I still can’t make out wait he is saying.

That colonel bloke is pretty dire as are virtually all current American commentary teams. Maybe it is just me but I think for many Brits their style and content is just skin crawlingly bad.

I might be alone on this, but I miss Jim Lampley's commentating. He was a LOUSY blow-by-blow guy (and could be as biased as they come), but was pretty good at being a commentator, I thought. I also enjoyed his Fight Game program.
Not for nothing he lasted so long.

Agreed I looked forward to the fight game. Bernstein was pretty good as well it really seems PBC should take the announcers a little more serious.

Mora is terrible, Lewis is not far behind.

I agree. I don’t like Mora at all. He is worse. Not sure why he has a job. At least Lennox was a great champion with real name recognition. Mora’s claim to fame was being the winner of the contender. Some former fighters are good commentators but most are not. Paulie is natural at it. Ward took a little bit, but I think he is pretty good now.

He is terrible, but you cannot get Riddick Bowe or Evander Holyfield for obvious reasons. They are unintelligible. Michael Moorer still has all of his speech faculties, but they say he is kind of a dick and Shannon Briggs is a bit of a loud mouth dumb fuck! Lewis may be the best out of the bunch. lol...Chris Byrd seems to be a good talker, but I dunno?!/
Re: Is Lennox Lewis one of the worst announcers?
He is a terrible commentator. Great fighter no doubt and I'm sure he's got lots of boxing wisdom (dont get me started on his #lennoxism tweets) but he just doesn't get it across well. Paulie has the ability to explain technical elements of boxing in lay terms and keep it interesting. Different leagues.
Re: Is Lennox Lewis one of the worst announcers?
I think Lennox lost respect when he requested and wore a huge blanket on a recent card. He was cold. Not pre or post McCall 1 cold, be he was cold. I like Mora and that took some doing. Hard to stomach with Forrest but had him edging a grey Mosely.
