Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
"I believe that when you say something, you need to prove it," Lomachenko said.
"I have a lot of experience in boxing, and anything can happen during a fight.
"I just think about what I need to do during a fight - and my goal is to become the undisputed champion of the world.
"It will be very, very interesting. We have two different styles."

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
the weigh in is said to be at nine am. that's a big advantage for devin, gives him roughly thirty six hours before the fight
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
What's the time for weigh ins usually? You'd figure there has to be a set time per location, unless they load a stipulation in the contract maybe. So Loma will be up vs a CW jr middleweight.

In my experience covering them, Weigh-ins are nearly always the late afternoon or evening before a fight 4-6pm here in the UK, to try and be close to 24hrs as possible whilst feeding the news cycle. No standard though as far as I can tell between shows, belt organisations, countries or even commissions. Haney is already huge and I can see him missing weight if he steps on the scales that early.
Needs common sense and stricter weight windows. Morning of fight or 12 hr would limit bulking up by the naturally bigger fighter skewing it so much. It's not right but as much as I loved him we have to admit as Brit fans Hatton built a career around it. Well that and a whole lot of desire, intensity, viciousness, skills and a willingness to walk through walls.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
“After the Lopez loss, I could have gone down (in weight) and fight,” Lomachenko said during the first part of ESPN’s Blood, Sweat & Tears: Haney vs. Lomachenko.
“But I can’t because I lose at lightweight. Lightweight took my dream, took my goal. I can’t change.
“For me, it looks like you’re weak.
"I still have my speed, my power, my conditioning. I was very close with this goal. Now I have a second chance. But I have a second chance with a different man.”

I know James from Texas- after he left Texas he coached the Colombian National team for a few years. Now he trains fighters in Mexico. He has been training fighters since the 80s. He just did another video on his youtube channel that features an interview with Ronnie Sheilds.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
Loma can't afford to give away early rounds
The deck is definitely stacked against him
Loma has received some bad cards from judges in the past
The 119-109 against Lopez
The 114-114 against Russell Jnr
I think Loma needs to start aggressively & target that body
Haney's punch selection can be predictable
Loma shouldn't really be fighting above 130
I think Haney wins a boring, safety 1st decision
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
DuBoef believes victory over the Ukrainian star would be the finest achievement of Haney's fast-rising career and could secure a massive clash against former unified super-featherweight king Stevenson.
"Loma says he is 100 per cent and the finest he could be. So if Haney can take out Lomachenko at his finest, I think that is a very, very big mark for Devin to accomplish," DuBoef said.
"Devin, we've seen, he's got great size, great speed, good footwork, really quick hands. But this is the matrix, you do not know what you're in with.
"He's going to learn a lot on Saturday night, if he hasn't already. Because he's going to get a masters degree from one of the great fighters of our era.
"Listen, absolutely [Stevenson to face the winner makes sense].
"With Devin Haney, he's so big, can he stay at 135lb? Or does he jump up to 140lb? And we're loaded at 140lb as well and there are opportunities there.
"So I think from a pure boxing perspective, to see Devin and Shakur is a natural, natural fight.
"It would have been like Mayweather and Mosley in their prime, which we didn't get.
"It's that type of fight, and they know each other well. Love to do those type of fights, but we'll see what happens with the outcome and how both fighters feel, and how Lomachenko feels.
"We have to read the room a little better and decide to make moves with the fighters, rather than force something they don't really want."

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko v Devin Haney
Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like basically you do not need ESPN+ or Dazn for these recent ppvs? Of course if you still have cable that looks like the case. They're showing up on the same channel they did 20 years ago here :p.Tank-Garcia was 20 bucks more but you didn't get ripped off, stagnate in refreshing and freezing and charged 2,3 times by Dazn like so many did. It took that fiasco for Dazn to finally represent like they actually had customer services and respond.

Haney has those Wilder legs. But why'd they do two weigh ins??
