Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Ok so guilty of putting this in boxing talk ;D. But seriously...how smart is this considering his eye was opened up like a venus flytrap just 2+ weeks ago??? Ever the showman though. Needs to work on his scripted line delivery though. Beginning to wonder if he's not looking for an exit route

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
I was going to say born for this but he was rubbish using a script. I laughed at the perfectly heighted security guys shuffling in front of them :D

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Fury has the right personality and attitude for WWE, but I don’t think he has the right athletic ability for it. I doubt he could ever seriously do it
-
Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
It is a good marketing move, he should do the same at UFC and MMA events before moving on to comic con.

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Gotta say as a fan of boxing and a fan of "wrasslin" (mostly the 1980's stuff of my childhood) I think Tyson Fury could have a brilliant second career in it, but he's going to need time and he's going to need to loosen up a bit. That's where he does so well in boxing with his trash talk, but then again there's no limits there and WWE is catering to a younger more PG/PG-13 demographic.
I thought Conor McGregor was the best guy for WWE...he's got more of the natural swagger, but again PG/PG-13 audience kinda iffy there.
For "wrasslin" Tyson will need to train up on a fair few things, but I expect it's fun for the fella which is nice.
So let's say Tyson vs Braun at a PPV....Tyson needs to do a little Dusty Rhodes/Ali shuffle. A Scoopslam. And an elbow or leg drop whatever he's most comfortable with......maaaaaybe maybe bring out the old British Bulldog running powerslam, but that's got a lot that could go wrong and I'm sure Braun ain't a light guy. With a scoopslam Braun can help with a little jump and it's up and over and safe for all involved.
That would get a big pop from the crowd I'm sure ;D
Some boxers should have had a go at wrasslin....Shannon Briggs, great physique, very eager to talk, got his own unique look, athletic, emotive, already got a catchphrase "Let's Go Champ" ...he's fucking made for it.

I have no doubt.

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Well A#1 WWE schedule is murder, all those dudes do is travel and wrestle. Granted it ain't like they've got to make every night count so much as it used to be, but the travel is hell. So that HAS to be worse than boxing twice a year if that.
For wrasslin the key is (and Fury really should be good with this) being larger than life....2 very important things that helps one come across as larger than life are two things Tyson Fury enjoys.
1. Steroids
2. Cocaine
So yeah get on those again and he'll be doing just fine...get him a full length mink coat and he'll be king of the ring

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Just for comparisons sake....
James 'Buster' Douglas
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQmuC0AsEhA
Buster was working with TRUE talent in 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. The Macho Man was incredible and could get heat and draw the fans in like no other! Didn't have to do any talking, just work in the ring, got a big pop, worked with 2 all time great superstars of the industry
'Iron' Mike Tyson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5abDK1j5IE
Again tremendous talent there 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin great on the mic, great worker, very believable with his talking and his work which is what makes him an all time great as a wrassler.
Floyd 'Money' Mayweather Jr.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CASXye4AZ-o
Big Show is a hell of an athlete, never the best talker, but he's a really good worker, but this was some cartoon shit just due to the size difference. Just like in movies and tv shows there's a limit to what some people buy....with this Big Show is fucking huge, Floyd is tiny. Floyd would have been better paired vs a smaller guy who was a better talker...I'm thinking Chris Jericho would have been mint for that, but Jericho already worked with Tyson. :dontknow: .....all that said Floyd DID break Big Show's nose so there's that little bit of realness to it.
Then of course Ali vs Antonio Anoki  and Ali vs Gorilla Monsoon but I won't get into those. Ali really liked Gorgeous George and began talking trash on account of him....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed-3HxoMdKg
There's showmanship to boxing like there's showmanship to wrasslin, but it's got to be believable, got to strike a nerve

Everyone knows Braun Strowman will squash Fury like a bug.

Crazy stuff. The man apparently wastes no time, looks like wwe is putting these two on a ppv on Halloween night :-X. No doubt it will do well and he's a natural pitchman but cannot get away from the big IF being that cut reopening and screwing up the Feb Wilder date. Wrestling has gone a bit PG compared to the early days and it's not like we have guys like Terry Funk or Flair blading anymore to get the blood flowing but all it takes in a taped wrist, elbow etc. I really hope and pray they don't put Fury in a pair of speedo tights.

Bad move on Tyson. Wrong move will open the eye, just an accident and the entire rematch whole world is waiting for is OFF! not worth the risk.

It is all choreographed so the eye will not be at risk which is another reason he is doing wresting.

How many actors get through an entire movie shoot without botching a line or stunt ;D. These are some big dudes smacking around

Any American older than 10 yrs old watching Wrestling needs to have a word with themselves. Brits watching it? I have no words for that.
Fury for all his skills is an idiot.

Nothing wrong with watching wrestling. It was my first love as a child. I got too busy to keep up with it once I got into high school, but I keep up enough to know the major names.

So you buying this PPV event?

Britain has a great history, tradition, and culture of pro wrestling....so it's only fitting Beanz would look down his nose at it.

Well you SAY that....

;D
WWE takes great care with talent from outside of the wrestling world so I actually doubt Tyson would have any issue, plus the culture these days in that industry is different than it used to be. Although Strowman and Brock Lesnar have traded some legit blows before.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh3NXlUThpE
But I doubt something like that happens to Fury.

No. Most years I have watched the royal rumble with some family and friends and do a little friendly betting thing, but other than that, I just watch highlights here and there on big matches

My dad took me to those shows and I saw Big Daddy, Giant Haystack and Kendo Nagasaki. They were on ITV World of Sport Channel every Saturday. I then got into WWF/E which was even better. It was fun, theatre and dramatic. Good memories.

Wrestling allows that, good stuff. It's like everyone is in on the 'joke' but soaking up undeniable entertainment factor. With your ol man is what really made it great. Way back we managed to go to a filming of American Gladiators. Like wrestling but set up in 'average random contestants vs huge massive gladiators' in a series of physical contests of sorts. Little cheesy but it sucked you in and was good bonding. I was high as a kite but watching the old man oogle at the scantly glad buffed out chicks was a trip ;D.
For the record Raye Hollitt aka Zap was freaky hot ;D

"Tyson Fury has lost interest in boxing says Hearn"
People in boxing, especially the HW division, are generally full of shit and 50% of what they say is nonsense, but..... this isn't so far fetched.
One question though. Isn't Fury signed to a 5-fight deal with ESPN? I realize contracts in boxing aren't worth the paper they're printed on, but so far from a 5-fight deal, Tyson has delivered future HOF'ers Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin.
Maybe that 12th round knockdown from Wilder has given Fury new career options.
ESPN execs must be pretty joyful with all this WWE crap and budding singing career.

Fury is all over the place. I don’t think that he can mentally focus enough on one thing. I doubt he will just quit boxing before getting a massive payday to fight Wilder, but WWE is giving him a ton of money too. He will just follow the money.

Then again, if Wilder were to somehow "trip up" on the way to a Fury rematch while Fury was prancing around with the wrestlers and the singers .... I doubt Tyson would shed a tear over the lost opportunity.... and his "aww, too bad" would have an undertone of massive relief.

A lot of people are making out that Fury has had some sort of “reality check” after that 12th round knockdown and is somewhat “edgy” about rematching Wilder.
Let’s not forget that Fury won 8,9, maybe 10 out of 12 rounds. I think if anything, he was annoyed he got caught. And when he got up, he was probably the better fighter for the rest of the round. Certainly not shell shocked.
Besides all that, Wilder , despite having a fight with Ortiz in front of him, was talking about paying Fury step aside money so he could fight Joshua (despite the fact that Joshua doesn’t currently have any belts. )
Maybe Fury is just thinking “fuck you, I’ll do whatever I fucking want to do!”
Please don’t think these are the rantings of a Fury nut hugger, because I’m a Million miles from that.

Nah, I know you're not a Fury nut hugger. Just a Wilder hater. ;D
I don't know, I just think Fury has been pretty indefensible based on just about everything he's done after Wilder. For someone who was supposedly not phased by that knockdown (or the other one), he's certainly looked everywhere BUT in Wilder's direction. Multi-million contracts with ESPN...... bum-of-the-month club in his next two fights..... and now stints in wrestling and in singing. Hey..... we get it. He feels he doesn't need Wilder and that's fine. It's too bad he seems to talk out of both sides of his mouth, though. Just come clean and say you're avoiding the man.

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Wilder has avoided EVERYONE despite having plenty of potential credible challengers for years like a cynophobe at Crufts.

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
Don't waste your breath. I was Wilder's harshest critic since Day One.
When Wilder was doing nothing but beating up on bums, I was there front and center calling him out for it.
Things have changed now..... and I continue calling a spade a spade.
Wilder hit Fury harder than he'd ever been hit before. Fury made a lot of noise about wanting a rematch..... and now has done everything except running for Prime Minister in order to avoid Wilder.

Disagree, Fury had this fat contract from ESPN where he could fight Wilder on the 3rd fight so that is what he is planning. He fought 2 relatively easier fights, got some rounds in and would have fought Wilder earlier if not for the cut on his 3rd fight. Now that he is cut he is getting extra exposure and money doing his WWE stint.
Wilder, in the meantime, is not waiting and taking on Ortiz (who I assume is his mandatory but even if he is not) who was more than competitive to demand a rematch.
Fury was hit hard and knocked down but still got up and out boxed Wilder after really being ring rusty. This time he is in a better place and should win more convincingly although I thought he did that already and was blatantly robbed.

If by wanker you mean someone who has said he wants a body on his record....... I'll second the motion. ;D
Not a particularly good boxer? Guilty as charged. ;D
However...... I'll defend the fact that he's upped his game somewhat. No longer is he lining his "W-L" with less than stellar opposition (to the say the least).
I'll go a bit further. If Wilder-Fury II never happens..... I'm gonna blame Fury a hell of a lot more than I will Wilder.

Hate is a pretty strong word, but yeah I think he’s a Wanker, and I don’t think he’s a particularly good Boxer. I’ll give you that.
If by wanker you mean someone who has said he wants a body on his record....... I'll second the motion. ;D
Exactly that. And other stupid nonsense he has come out with.
Not a particularly good boxer? Guilty as charged. ;D
Yep.

Re: Tyson Fury wants to be a Wrassler
If that fraud Conor Wassname can make a 'comeback' to the ridiculous UFC and make million dollar purses, and Tyson can make $12m from Wrassling, who's the mug? If the moneys coming easy for showbiz events then why not have it? Could well see more boxers doing it, no hassle from the Arums, Kings, Warrens and Hearns of this world. 3 fights a year no problem.
