Even though it was quick- he dominated Spinks in every department- bravery, power, speed, skill. Spinks Jinx wasn't supposed to end that quick, that bad!
Re: The Top 10 Dominant HW Performances!
Good list. :)
Man... but Tua vs. Ruiz should be up there somewhere. :o

I chose to stay away from those fights even though Spinks losing early to Tyson made top- it wasn't coming out the gate and getting smoked ASAP, like Tyson on Marvis Frazier.
Spinks actually made it to center ring, stood ground (about 2 seconds;D) To Spinks credit he got off a few jabs, few right hands, but Iron smothered or blocked them all- Dominant defence if but for a minute.
1st KD via bodyshot, then headshot. Brief but total domination defensively, offensively.
With Tua on Moorer, Ruiz, that was come out and bomb 'em out!
Re: The Top 10 Dominant HW Performances!
Klitschko vs Brock total domination.

I took Holmes Cobb off since Tex was the under dog expected to lose.

No way should the multiple belt holder get compromised like that- and not be placed on the Dominant Performance List.
@TitoFan I think I didnt add Ruiz-Tua because it wasn't a championship fight, but then again I didnt state the thread was top championship performances, just dominant HW performances.
Re: The Top 10 Dominant HW Performances!
Just some dominate randoms may have not see coming
Lewis v Tua
Holyfield v Tyson I
Holmes v Mercer
Fury v Wilder II
Oquendo v Etienne...ok we'll put it in the B column but they were pushing the Black Rhino haaaard. And ol Fres literally bounced him off the canvas at will.
Herbie Hide v Michael Bentt
Gerrie Coetzee v Michael Dokes
Axel Shultz v George Foreman...cards can say what they do but we all know George got madly boxed that night
Bert Cooper v Willie De Wit..oof what a massacre :fight:

Your list includes both upsets (Ali-Foreman, Usyk-Joshua), and expected results (Tyson-Spinks, Klitschko-Briggs).
Dominant, I guess, would need to be from start to finish... so that eliminates thrillers like Joshua-Klitschko... or stinkers like Fury-Klitschko.
Good list.
Another dominant performance worthy of mention would be Ali-Liston I.

Briggs was just a punching bag there so that gets minus points for me.. I will defend my favourites the klitschko bros and nominate some others instead...
Vitali v Sam Peter, now Sam Peter wasn't the best boxer but that git was amazing powerful and on a bit of a charge (v lower tier guys) and vitali came out of retirement and totally dominated him and Sam quit on his stool and was never the same since, sure he wasn't great but he did have some stuff going for him... Vitali really took the life out of him, I'd have that instead of vitali v Briggs.
I wouldn't have this in a top ten but I will mention what I think was wladimir most dominant performance a t a good level... Wladimir v chagaev, wladimir looked pretty good this fight, some fight and just beat down a former two time amateur champion(beat felix Savin for the first one) and overcame the mighty John ruiz and valuev(slightly less impressive), wladimir beat him down well and looked good doing it.
Re: The Top 10 Dominant HW Performances!
Spicoli nailed it with Fury vs Wilder II. That was an emasculating, dominant performance. Likely the most dominant and destructive performance I’ve ever seen between two top heavyweights. It isn’t just the knockout- it’s the way Fury completely bullied and dismantled an undefeated power puncher. I don’t see Wilder ever coming back or being close to his old form- the fight was that brutal to both his body and psyche.

Only in this crazy age would there now be a 3rd fight being set for next week after that dominant performance.
Wilder would never have been world champion in any other era. There is no quality of depth in the division today.
Re: The Top 10 Dominant HW Performances!
Lennox Lewis totally dominated Tua I kinda forgot it occured. If I remember wherever lennox was- David made sure to stay on the opposite side of the ring.
A dominant performance as forgetful as Klitchko vs Kevin Queen Pin Johnson.
As far as emasculating which was worse Fury vs Wilder II or Lewis vs Tyson?
I admit I have watched neighter fight. I didnt think it would go good for either Deontay nor Mike. To this day I have only seen snippets of both fights.
A case can be made that Holyfield dominated Tyson from start to finish fight 1. I think Mike had one good round. @mikeeod #4- good pick! For Holmes-Cooney I guess I saw that as one of the great adjustment fights. Cooney was in it for about 3 rounds?! LOL! Larry stated in Legendary Nights that Cooney got him with a bodyshot that he said---thank God the bell rang when he landed it cause he hurt me. I remember it, just didnt know how effective it was. Nevertheless past the 4th or so, it was all Larry via adjustments so IMO that dominant showing was not from start to finish. Still a decent pick!

Did the rewatch this week leading in and forgot just how early Fury set the table and was on top of Wilder. I have my problems with Fury but credit where do that was one of the most focused and on mission heavyweight starts I've seen. Watched an interview today where Wilder sounds half asleep and freely dismisses a fighters 'skill' and again rails that power rules all. Either he's trying a poker face bluff with the plan etc or he's still concussed and has learned nothing.
Watched it only from the legs down this time. Foot placement and repeatedly how Wilder gets crossed and has to punch over himself and then stumbles off like a totem pole. Honestly should we again get the same driven tunnel vision Fury I'd be shocked if he makes it to middle rounds.
