It would be a minor miracle if Usyk wins and I am sure AJ will have a rematch clause in their contract if that happens.
Once Usyk loses he will eventually take on the 2nd division heavyweights like Whyte, Ruiz and Parker forging a career that way.
It all depends on how badly AJ beats him.
You’re very confident of AJ winning.
If AJ fights like the RUIZ 2 fight he gets the easy decision.
I would like to see a KO.
i'm ot so sure of that. While Usyk has seemed hittable to me in the past and Joshua usually gets clipped on the inside where Usyk doesn't usually look to get his work done, Joshua also seems to be right on the edge of taking an ugly shot for some reason. Bless him for having the heart to get up but I can see lots of room for a technician with a solid plan to beat him comprehensively if the don't get greedy and stick to a plan. Not quite as systematic as Klitch jabbing and lining opponents up for the hammer, but someone who sets traps, has better footwork than most heavies but still enough pop and technique to land those surprise shots AJ never seems to see coming. Not saying Usyk is definitely that guy, and definitely not with Loma sr for only one camp... but a 335 -15 amateur record and besting guys like beterbiev in world championships might imply he has found ways to negate power with technique. i'd have to see what theyre doing in camp but... Just sayin...
Yes master you seem convinced this will be so easy.
I'm not now though I was originally. Usyk is a very very smart fighter. He believes he can win and I think he'll find a way of either doing it or give AJ one hell of a scare.
Ruiz 2 performance all over again.
I'm on a stag do in Liverpool at the weekend. Drinking starts at midday. I have a feeling I won't get to see this fight which is unfortunate
Master chatting shit as usual ;D
Joshua needs to bang him out early, if Usyk can get past halfway i think he'll win this on points.
Basically the longer this goes the more it favours Usyk.
Can see AJ throwing bombs pretty early and burning energy, if he lands clean he stops Usyk but if Usyk can keep out the way AJ will tire and lose (Usyk could even stop him late on)
No way is this an easy fight for AJ, infact it could well be his toughest yet :)
Joshua looks to be coming in lean and slimmed down for this too which again will play into Usyks hands.
Proper 50 - 50 pick em fight as far as i'm concerned.
IF Usyk wins, AJ's career will be doubted from here on out. Unless Usyk goes on to beat everyone else a loss would even dilute Ruiz' win. Chalking it up as a bodybuilder posing as a boxer.
In other words, this is a no-win fight regardless of how great Usyk has been up to this point. Great as in undefeated. And The cleaner of Cruisers.
Usyk wins he might not get the credit he deserves as well. Aj will be seen as being exposed, but I am not so sure a loss to Usyk should mean its over for Josh.
Personally I think it is a great matchup. AJ the big dude had to box to beat a fat guy, so what is the plan to beat a small in shape guy whose best asset is to think as well? Considering he's at 221bs there really isnt a size difference that we haven't seen before. We might see some huffing and puffing if this goes past 8 or 9 rounds.
I like both fighters, may the the guy who can uplift boxing win!
It all depends on how good Usyk really is. I think this is what this fight is going to come down to.
