Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
This one has gone under the radar but interested to see Gvozdyk back after impressive but tragic fight with Stevenson. This reads as honestly easy work for Gvozdyk on paper but hey the bell rings for a reason. 175 is another where any match of current champs makes for a close pick em match up with personal preference being Bivol v Kovalev but rival promotion may lead to Kovalev v Beterbiev. Card should kick off in 3+ hours.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Egidijus Kavaliauskas v Ray 'no relation' Robinson starts it off. Should actually be a good one. What are the odds Ray opens his forehead up.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Southpaw Robinson on the backfoot steady jabbing. Kav doing well to step with him and looking for body shots early. Robinson not shooting the straight left yet. Both waiting to let go, good right hand end of 2nd by Kov.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Robinson mixing well in 3rd, left lively. Kov determined to get to the body looking for jabs and left hooks. Robinson with the options and Kov a bit straight line following for body. Needs to seriously get his hands off
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Kov looks like he's trying to pogo early 4th. Bounce bounce bounce but the hands stay home. Goood 1-2 finally forces Ray to move uncomfortable. Robinson steadies with long steady jab and left stick ends round. Kov needs to kick in the door the way this is forming up.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Good exchange early 5th, Kov got him to punch with him. Straight right gets Robinson on ropes followed by left. Better work from Kov upstairs. Easily his best round and Robinson throwing that left not so committal and pulling it.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Robinson back to basic mobile work in 6th with Kav who is taking foot off the gas. Weird round. Kav almost trying to stay center ring countering long left of Robinson. Why
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Not sure what Bradley is watching. This is Kavs pressure to make and ffs let his hands go. Ray with the activity and controlling real estate. Not exactly thrilling but Kav can change this if he gets back to body attack
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Kav ohh that was ugly ;D. Every time Kav forces the movement Ray is resetting, lost his balance there. It's not like Robinson is laying down power down the middle but Kav is frustrating with lack of attack. Just in spurts. I have Ray up over 8 but gave Kav 8th.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Robinson doing the work in 9th. Kav gets closer then doesn't step to the side and dig in. He's watching and waiting while Robinson boxes and moves. I think he needs to knock him out
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Kav really decelerated down the stretch. Fairly convinced Crawfords #1 mandatory just had his ears boxed off by unranked Ray Robinson. Gave him maybe 3-4 rounds. Kav had literally one gear and went passive. Ray won this fight for me
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
97-93...Robinson...95-95 x2..majority draw. Well one judge got it right :p.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Said it a few years ago, anyone putting Kavaliauskas in with Crawford should be brought up on charges. They're not really trying to still push that ???. Robinson speaks truth on the mic.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
Crawford looks huge and sounds half asleep. But he is going to do bad things to Khan.
Re: Oleksandr Gvozdyk v Doudou Ngumbu on Espn
That fight was boring. It looked like Robinson was fighting scared and Kav didn’t let his hands go.
