Is Canelo on a serious slide?
He’s had knee issues for years. Fast hands but slow feet and only getting slower. We saw him in the hospital bed after yet another procedure on his knee recently
What do you think, do we see a serious drop off in the next couple years? I think after GGG they will need to completely reassess how they move him. I’m even starting to talk myself into GGG winning, but I’m not sure the drop will be quite yet. But maybe
Re: Is Canelo on a serious slide?
Did not know about his knee issues. Normally that will not be too much of an issue for a boxer and Canelo never relied on his footwork anyway.
So no.
Re: Is Canelo on a serious slide?
Serious slide? No. To me, he's the same Canelo I've seen throughout the years (except bigger and stronger).
The first knee issue was back in 2018... and reading about it, it's unclear as to how serious it actually was. Didn't seem to affect him after that.
I think it's a matter of aesthetics. After a series of opponents who were either woefully inadequate... or inexplicably went into the ring like a timid deer... Bivol was neither... and proceeded to make Canelo look like an ordinary plodder.
Which may in turn draw unwarranted focus to his knees.

ggg points, Bivol ruined canello, knees will be shot enough to lose on points to ggg. Score will be 115 Oranges - 113 Apples
Re: Is Canelo on a serious slide?
Based on predictions about "certain August 2021 reinstatements", GGG's slim-to-none possibilities just suffered their final blow.

Re: Is Canelo on a serious slide?
Nope. He’s the best white fighter out there and that including Loma and Usyk. I just think he pushes himself to new challenges that most fighters aren’t willing to take. Always said ppl make way to bigger deal about losses in boxing

He's taking on water let's just say that. You can clearly see how flat he became early on with Bivol, cred to Bivol. But he's in the same reset as Lara *cough Mayweather losses minus the build back slow roll. That yo-yo division stuff catches up with age. I do think he's on the other side if only by inches

Canelo is not a white man.

What ? You know what ? I’m not even gonna touch something as stupid as what u said. I’m not going there.
it's true that Canelo looks to have very, very little indigenous Mexican and mostly looks Spaniard so therefore pretty white.
Re: Is Canelo on a serious slide?
Anyway, back to the OP’s question. He makes a good point about Canelo’s knees, and he’s at the age where parts of his body will start to give up on him.
So , yes, he may well start to slide a little. But I don’t think he’s completely shot just yet. He made a mistake going up to LHW and taking on Bivol, and if people had looked at the fight without taking on the hype, they would’ve realised that at the very least this would be a really tough fight and that there was a good chance he would lose.
If he stays at SMW, I reckon he could still pick off enough good guys to beat……….for now.
