Looking for a few suggestions
I am currently work on a community based forum that me and the missus were going to start before she passed away. I am looking for suggestions on content (sections) for the forum.
Colour schemes will change with time and so will layout. If you get a chance, have a look and offer your comments.
Thanks in advance.

Good work mate.
Skills exchange
Offers (groceries and stuff)
Announcements section
Free to collector section, always popular. Not sure if free cycle is a global thing?

Thanks @Memphis for the suggestions.
The forum will be at some stage connected to a website, that will have a complete listing of business's within the Redlands area with pages for ad's and special offers (for a fee), but that will be later when the funds are available for hosting.
Announcements currently falls under the "Local Events" section. Also the forum does have an area on the left side for further announcements.
Have not heard of "free cycle" before. What is it and how does it work?
In our area, there are quite a few suburbs with little bulletin boards. But unless you live in that suburb, you would not know what is going on and they are maybe only a few kilometre's away. The thought is to combine them all into one forum (bulletin board), so people from near by suburbs would know what's going on around them, without having to drive around. Also gives them a chance to meet and talk to their neighbours.
At least that is the thought. :)
Not a new concept, but what the hey.
Re: Looking for a few suggestions
A Farming section or forum where local farmers can share problem solving, a part of it linked to a help with depression site, sadly its needed alot in that vocation these days.
Online typed interviews with opposing Councillors come election time.
Discounted local services for members.
Maybe an online charity auction for someone unfortunate who needs help if you can find a sponsor to donate something to sell off.
Weekly Police beat: Used to educate and solve local crime.
A printable Calendar of local events for the year with your website heading it. A great thing to have for a specific area is their recycling bin pick up days marked off on it in color so its there at a glance.
Sale, rent and swap section.
A Co op shop, once youve built the numbers up with mass purchasing power.
Re: Looking for a few suggestions
Thanks for the suggestions Andre.
Most of that will go good on the website when I can a afford it.
The rest will fit in to the forum.
Cheers
Re: Looking for a few suggestions
Credit Union which is a non for profit type bank would be good and any free money advice service. Having good handy men and reputable traders contact details would be good as well as a market place to sell things and accommodation for rent.
Re: Looking for a few suggestions
Have you got the Bendigo bank out there?
They have been outstanding around here supporting community work.

That will be on the community calendar for trash pick up. (Day of the week and type.) Also will have a notice section on the left where the local tips (dumps) are located.
And Thanks

This person was in the process of getting their quota up, so they can then post a link to their web site for free advertizing.

@Andre I don't know, between ryanman getting it on with Miles, Miles dreaming about Muff Ovens and brockton wanting sex when/where he can get it. This place is starting to get a little to :gayfight2: for me.
