How would rankings be if we had the original 8 weight classes and 1 belt?
So let’s imagine that we went back to the original 8 weight classes and 1 belt per division. Rate your top five in every division. I know that some people may be hard to figure out if they would go up or down in weight, but just do your best to be realistic.
Flyweight
I’ll be honest, I don’t know enough people at those weight classes to make an informed opinion.
Bantamweight
Inoue
Nery
Estrada
Wangek
Rigo (I think he is probably still good enough)
Featherweight
Santa Cruz
Warrington
Russell
Stevenson
Navarrete
Lightweight
M. Garcia (I think he could still make the weight)
Loma
Davis
Berchelt
Easter
Welterweight
Crawford
Spence
Pacquiao
Prograis
Taylor
Middleweight
Canelo (as much as it pains me to say)
GGG
Jermall Charlo
Jermell Charlo
Andrade
Light heavyweight
Gvozdyk
Bivol
Kovalev
Beterbiev
Benavidez
Heavyweight
Fury
Wilder
Ruiz
AJ
Usyk
The main problem is that I don’t see most of the good fighters to be able to drop down into the lower weight class. Most of the bigger fighters would just have an advantage. Maybe there are some I missed.

In bantam I would stick Rodriguez in there in between Nery and Estrada. Estrada moving up in weight would be no match for Manny.
I'd flip flop Wilder and Fury at HW.

I think Gervonta moves down to feather and moves your entire list down one notch.

I thought about putting Rodriguez at #5. But you could be right that he might be too big for Estrada

I am not even going to try and make comparisons because I have got to go out to dinner right now but rest assured if a man wants to be champ he's going to be getting his mail delivered to the gym with only eight weight classes.
