The 2012 London Olympic Games
One and a half hours until the opening ceremony. How many posters from outside of the Great Britain will watch it and are looking forward to a couple of weeks of live sporting excellence?

Love sport, of all forms. Sporting utopia.

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
I'm looking forward to the sports, but I don't care about opening ceremonies.
-
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
But the ceremony will be a good one to watch...

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
What are people mostly looking forward to mostly
The British boxing team look promising, as do our cyclists, rowers, female heptathaletes, etc

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
where to watch the free streaming?any one?
-
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
can anyone tell me where to watch London Olympics?
-
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
On BBC1 or iplayer. It's quite a decent ceremony I think. Quite dramatic and plenty of quirkyness.
-
Opening ceremony is bit pointless, never really pay it much attention. Some great moments with Olympics though, even the random sports.
-
I've been very impressed!

I think it was a show that is very much aimed at a British audience...not sure how it would translate internationally though.

A sense of genuine national pride for once I hope.

Brilliant so far, great to see her Maj parachute in:-)

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
I hope those drummers are working shifts, they've been drumming for a good 15 minutes now and we're still on the B's. Gwan Bhutan!
-
I was going to make an inappropriate joke about Cambodia and the catering tent but I don't want to let the country down so I won't. Come on the Huns, sorry Gernimey
-
Loads of B's and S's do we come out under U or at the end as hosts. Syria now

I think it appropriate that the hosts come out last, keep the yanks ahead of us with the guns primed.
-
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Well, the US are on the track, so that means we must be coming out last as hosts. USA aren't going for an understated entrance!

-
HA HA HA! Miles is going to go apoplectic

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
This is the first time I've made it this far into an Olympic Games opening ceremony. Really good, and not just generic boringness that is enough to put people to sleep.
-
Ah bollocks i lost interest the moment the teams started coming out.... what happened when we came out?
-
Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
There is no greater Olympian than he who is here tonight. The greatest of all.
Muhammad Ali's health may be fading, but he is still the greatest.

The torch was so beautiful

Not really. I polished off my wine, had a little vodka and most importantly finished my book before sunset. Nobody I have spoken to has been all that impressed by the ceremony. I don't believe I missed anything life changing.
I'm just glad the sports are getting going. I'm looking forward to it all. We should do well.

I was talking about the Artic Monkeys. As to not being impressed by the ceremony, well frankly nobody is impressed with your affectations. Meanwhile on planet earth a billion people were entertained, enthralled and moved by a fantastic opening show.

Cavendish and Wiggins in the road race now. Huge number of participants.

Well, it looks like the Team GB plan for this one hasn't worked out too well.

Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
I'm pretty sure Vinokourov is thinking of retiring this year, so I think a gold medal for him is well deserved. GB couldn't get anyone else to chip in, and they couldn't catch up. Hope Wiggo has plenty in the tank for the time trial.
