BJS will need to surpass the Lemieux performance by some distance. Not happening is it.
Saunders has been way too inactive, this will be only his 3rd fight since 2019 and Canelos 3rd fight in 6 months.
Completely agree Saunders won't be able to stop him coming forward, I just hope Canelo catches him with body shots and slows his running around down.
Could be an utter borefest if Saunders still has the engine to run around for 12 rounds 😁

Well that’s the beauty of sport, we will find out soon enough.
I’m not gonna slag off your opinion, it’s fair, I just don’t agree with it.

Decent fight would have been better a few years ago. Sometimes it's easy to forget Saunders is pretty damn skilled under all the antics and yapping he does. I do think he stands a much better chance than a Plant and will put some stank on his punches but inevitably Canelo catches up cuts him off and leaves him throwing snowballs at a tank.

Doubt that , but we shall see.
Re: Canelo v Saunders - May 8th Unification fight
I think this is the toughest fight by a distance for alvarez below the light heavyweight division, I'd rate beterbiev and bivol tougher fights but apart from that whoever wins this is the undisputed supermiddleweight king. Alvarez is looking great right now but he's struggled with movers before and BJ's certainly made Lemieux look like a fool, but of course totally different class here, I still don't think alvarez is that good at trapping people and still just follows them around a bit. I think tall Smith really helped him look even better last time out. I suspect alvarezs guys know all this so the ring will be small and increase his chances of winning.
Im predicting the scorecards will favour alvarez and many will claim he lost the fight and the truth will be somewhere in between.
Also alvarez has done pretty good since leaving Golden boy with the opponents he takes on(still early days of course) and of course not counting the baffling mandatory(I'll blame the wbc for that one). Maybe Oscar was holding him back this whole time.

Re: Canelo v Saunders - May 8th Unification fight
LOL people are funny. Its great watching opinions change over time.
Back in 2018 Canelo lost two fights to GGG, was picking easy belts, jumping to easy challenges and weak opponents.
Its been like this for years ever since he lost (not by miles) to reigning P4P Floyd Mayweather in his prime, at the age of 23 years old. He came off that loss and absolutely destroyed Alfredo Angulo and destroyed James Kirkland. Then he fought a prime aged Miguel Cotto (34) at the age of 25 and won convincingly. Demolished Amir Khan, Liam Smith and Chavez before he landed a fight with again the current P4P GGG, controversial definitely, but a rematch saw him do much better. Saul Canelo Alvarez was hated in the boxing world with so many people finding it hard to admit that GGG lost the second fight. He stepped up to Super Middle and TKO Rocky Fielding (by this time lots of people slated him for picking an easy fight for a belt). Now was a fight at super middle with Danny Jacobs, Jacobs give GGG a hard fight at middle, Canelo made Jacobs look average. He then went to up light heavy to fight Kovalev, too strong for the 36yo Ruskie, KO.
LOL and LOL because on many other boxing forums by this time he was being slated for fighting a past it, old man being Kovalev. OK
Then faces Liam Smiths big bro Callum. And wins by giving his bicep a beat down.
This last fight Yildrirm yeah, wrong ring.
Next up Billy Joe Saunders.
Now everyone is backing Canelo lol.
Its Amazing
