Anyone know anything about Len Wickwar? LW out of Leicester, Leicestershire, United Kingdom
He is said to have had the most proven amount of fights. And actually quite impressive! 342-86-43

Let me guess, the least impressive record is by some Mexican
A Mexican fighter did take his 0
Yeah you're right. One of the greatest. Sadly he died before any kind of rematch could take place.
sal would have bounced him even easier in a rematch

I'll file that where I file the rest of your expert opinions.

he had wilfredo all puffy. looking like he put his head in a hive. sal just walked through him. little man should have stayed in his lane
Re: Boxing Records You Admire the Most/Least
Rocky Marciano is definitely up there. You can say anything you want, but Floyd has a 50-0 record which is IMPRESSIVE to say the least. Despite of the cheap shot wins and in-fight injuries ;)

In noooo way comparing them..but 'Buck Smith' went 130-0 between 2nd and 3rd loss ;D. Ok
half majority were working the County Fair hot dog stand the morning of the fight but just two atmospheric contrasts in talent and how glossy numbers, sometimes, can be run up.
No since in lying; I had to look him up!! 120Kos? Not bad at all!

He was not great as his record would suggest but he did beat our Kirkland Lang a couple of times.
Re: Boxing Records You Admire the Most/Least
I am impressed that a slow short-armed clumsy guy started boxing at 22 years old and fought his way up to win his first title shot and defended 6 more times successfully. Then retired undefeated.
Re: Boxing Records You Admire the Most/Least
I admired Lionel Butlers record, fought Phil Jackson in his debut then Bowe, went from no hoper to challenging for the HW world title.
22-10-1 when he fought Lewis.
Re: Boxing Records You Admire the Most/Least
Paulie Malinaggi.
Not a great boxer but a good one. One of the weaker punchers to hold a title makes his resume all the more impressive, what a shame it's guys like him that never got caught up in haggling.
Fights were made.
Lovemore N'dou
Miguel Cotto
Ricky Hatton
Juan Diaz 2x
Amir Khan
Adrian Broner
Zab Judah
Danny Garcia
Senchenko
Shawn Porter
He fought most of those guys at their peak or close to it.
My top fights of him were his loss to Miguel Cotto and his win over Jose Miguel Cotto.
Took a beating against Cotto, busted up- I didn't think he would make it to the finish line and actually won a couple of rounds.
Jose Miguel wasnt the best boxer, but it was a clinic on Paulie's part.
Both his Diaz fights were also pretty good to watch.
Re: Boxing Records You Admire the Most/Least
Paulie was cocky against Cotto and took a deserved and fearful beating. He is a top boxing commentator and very accurate with everything he says.

Looking up his record I didnt know how he got booted off showtime. Didnt think his commentating was controversial but I didnt listen to whatever fight he did that pissed them off.
And on his cockiness, he did a commentary reviewing the fight. He stated he knew he fell behind on the cards and felt he had no choice to but to fight it out. Also stated Cotto wasn't just a brawler to him, he knew how to force Paulie to fight. I think that meant he was in a no-win scenario. Just man enough to take on the big test whenever it came.
Sidenote- seems boxrec wants membership to access records now- do you know of any websites that gives a fighter's record?:)

Ok, maybe its my browser. It kept taking me to their amatuer records. or a boxrec fight but not the record. Guess I have to type boxrec 1st and then the fighter, I'm good now!
