Re: Callum Smith v John Ryder
Seeing as this has turned into a Smith v Canelo thread
If the fight was to happen does anyone think Canelo would force a catchweight? Even if it is just a few pounds, we have seen how Smith looked before the fight against Ryder, we know Canelo's team will take every advantage possible.
Would they offer so much money that Smith can't turn it down?
Wasn't it against Cotto for a vacant middleweight title that they fought at a catchweight?

Can't remember but can remember Floyd making Canelo come down an extra pound or two below light middleweight limit.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Canelo Alvarez has vacated his WBA ‘regular’ super middleweight title.
Hearn revealed on Friday that WBA ‘Gold’ 168-lb champion Lennox Allen (22-0-1) will be fighting for the aforementioned title with John Ryder (28-5) set to go head-to-head with him for the belt.
Alvarez, who is also a reigning middleweight and light heavyweight world belt holder, knocked out Sergey Kovalev to win the WBO light heavyweight title in his last bout on November 2 at the MGM Grand – but never defended the belt.
Canelo produced a devastating display to knock out Englishman Rocky Fielding inside three rounds to win the secondary title in his New York City debut at Madison Square Garden last December.
