Re: Boxing Trivia (What only Hardcore fans know)
Ernie Terrell was affectionately known as the Octopus and Sonny Liston Made a crack about him hugging him more than his wife did. I think John Ruiz studied some of Terrell's old fights. Don't get me wrong because Ernie was a champ at the same time Ali was and he fought name opponents.

Hell of a fighter.
Re: Boxing Trivia (What only Hardcore fans know)
I saw Muhhamad Qawi beat Leon Spinks 1986 on KOTV this week. I did not know he actually fought him at cruiser weight.

The greatest Chin-NOT.
Sylvester Wilder
won 4 (KO 1) + lost 47 (KO 30) + drawn 0 = 51
rounds boxed 209 KO% 1.96
Dude holds the record..I believe for getting knocked out the most times.

Nice.
Robin Deakin won his pro debut in 2006 and that’s it. He fought a few weeks ago and lost his 51st straight fight.
And who can forget Reggie Strickland. W/o checking about 380 fights and close to 300 loses
Peter Buckley is right up there also
For me the show stopper has always been Eric Crumble and I've mentioned him before. He fought 31 times and lost all 31 by ko and never went past 2 rounds. His last name simply boots it out of the park.;D

Simmie Black, knocked out 97 times.

Yancey 'Yank' Durham
In 1966,
Would not put Joe Frazier in the Ring with Zora Folley, as 'Yank' was fearful of
Joe's vulnerability to the right-hand.
Zora had a good straight right-hand, and Joe had yet to perfect the ability to
slide off the incoming straight right-hand.

Granted a lot of Eric's fights were in casinos and saloons.
But isn't there a licensing prerequisite or medical clearance need to be granted before a professional fighter steps into a ring?
Aren't past records taken into consideration?

If it were up to me.....
Crumble: Sir, I'd like to renew my professional boxing license for an upcoming fight.
Me: Sure thing. What is your professional record thus far?
Crumble: Uhh... 0-30, sir.
(pause)
Me: Okaaaay.... How many of those losses have been by knockout?
Crumble: All 30 of them, sir.
(longer pause)
Me: Uhh... son... have you considered a change in career?
Re: Boxing Trivia (What only Hardcore fans know)
I think in some of these hick states you can get your boxing license in a box of Cheerios. The fact that a guy could get to 0-31 with 31 KO losses mostly in the first round is mind blowing.
