The UK should bring it back.
It costs more to keep the death penalty that not have it because of appeals.
Life imprisonment is worse than a death penalty and it also is helpful if they discover the prisoner never committed the crime afterwards.
Some states have it some states don't.
I believe the death penalty is a good thing (especially in cases where there's more than 1 eye witness to the crime with corroborating testimony), I don't necessarily like the idea of lethal injection though too much thought given to how humanely a murderer is put down when murderers never show sympathy or mercy to their victims. Hanging is a perfectly fine and ENVIRONMENTAL option as the rope can be reused.
Charles Manson should have been executed DECADES ago, BTK should have been IMMEDIATELY put down, Brian David Mitchell should have been sentenced to immediate death, Albert Fish should have been IMMEDIATELY executed, Ariel Castro should have been IMMEDIATELY executed instead of being allowed to hang himself in his cell...when there is no fucking doubt about someone's guilt in regards to murder then I personally believe they should be fast tracked to the gallows.
Love the reusage of the rope idea..lol
Wonder how much it cost the British taxpayer to keep Ian Brady alive for over 50 years in prison.
I completely agree with Master that the death penalty makes miscarriages of justice sometimes impossible to correct. There have been many many cases when the wrong person has been convicted of a serious crime.
Having said that, if somebody committed a heinous crime against me or a member of my family, I would probably want them dead.
True.
If justice was infallible, I'd probably be all for the death penalty...... or in cases where everybody knows they've got the right person. Serial killers caught red handed, or a pseudo with his dick in a kid.
Also, the stupid bitch who cut me up while driving the other day.
CCTV or video evidence of a crime is pretty much 100% proof.
For murderers, rapists, repeat offenders where it's is 100% they are guilty I'd be fine with it.
One of the founding fathers said it is better that 10 guilty men go free rather than one innocent man go to jail. I think we have lost sight of that. There are a number of men who spent decades on death row only to be cleared by DNA. How many innocents got zapped prior to DNA entering the legal realm. I am also against the government gathering a database of the populations DNA
