Interesting to hear people say Whyte was jabbing like Holmes and it’s his best win. I’m reading in other places he looked out of shape with a sloppy jab. The reason I am incapable of ignoring any fights haha, have to see who is right
Re: Whyte v Rivas - O2 Arena - July 20th
I thought it was a bit sloppy myself against a much smaller fighter with no real output. I think Wilder will be licking his lips at that as Whyte is right there to be hit and someone like Fury would just dance around him all night. I see him as a level below. He is on the Joshua level.

Ignore the Holmes point, Master got carried away doing the Rbr I think;D overall its somewhere in between. What else would his best win be? Parker is a better name, but Whyte might not have lasted another round, guess best performance is what I meant.
Rivas absolutely had an output, he was just paying for what he threw because his timing was always the same, as Paulie kept saying. He took a lot of shots and kept throwing despite being countered for the whole fight, he was obviously in great shape and wanted it bad. Would like to see him vs Chisora or Pulev, something at that level.
Re: Whyte v Rivas - O2 Arena - July 20th
I don't think his output was enough. He waited far too much and was too defensive for large portions of rounds. When he let go he did throw in combination, but along the way he was giving up rounds as Whyte did have better and more effective output. He was pretty much just outworked.

You’re probably right, I don’t know as I haven’t watched the fight yet. As the ignorant one in the room I defer to those in the know.

Sounds like the White Rhino is finished

Dont want anyone to worry about me, just a hard man gone old and soft the last 18 months, very happy and proud of David price, I will be okay but the last 12 months or so my health has been deteriorating and I’m glad I hung on took the chance and made money and now probably done
I'm glad about this, he's probably the most likeable character in the sport and its been good to have him hanging around over the last few years.

Wonder what his health issues are, the commentator's alluded to addictions after the fight. Hope he has made loads of money and can thank Eddie for that but hope he stays retired if he is retiring.

I don't really think he has much choice but to pack it in,there isn't really anywhere for him to go, he's had a good run and its been fun to watch but it is clear that he can't step up that level, unless Eddie is happy to put him on at the bottom of the cards just fighting bums in fights with no meaning because he is a fan favourite there really isn't anything out there for him.
been taken to hospital after that one, they said it was just precautionary but hopefully it'll be a wake up call for him
Allen has sustained a broken eye socket and damage to his tounge he was pretty much outboxed Allen is limited but extremely tough but we must remember all the tough sparring with world class fighters he has done.!
Time to pack it in Eddie may like him but Allen is the guy taking the punches.

You are correct, he could not pick up the pace against Whyte and he was hurt by the right hand. Rivas was not good enough this time.

talk is whyte failed a drug test

Apparently bbboc were aware of it and let the fight go ahead anyway... Could be this substance is. It banned in Britain but banned under vada rules or something like that....
Well that'll make whyte have to wait even longer for his wbc mandatory shot now :S
Re: Whyte v Rivas - O2 Arena - July 20th
“even longer” , poor drug cheat has been waiting 4 days
