Thanks @
walrus :) I love Mexican fighters
Barrera, Morales, Chavez, Sanchez, Marquez and now Alvarez
Five of the best to ever do it and Canelo is well on his way IMO.
No prob @
GaMo I think @
Beanz felt you were being racially insensitive or perhaps racist but I just read it as you like Mexican fighters. I like American fighters of any heritage I don't think having a group you cheer for denotes nazism, damn ggg is my favorite fighter now, along with Crawford in these cases I'm not thinking of race, just as fighters. Good luck mo and if your boy wins, I think not, but I shall congratulate you, a sort of gentlemans wager
:vd:
Good reply when u saw ur argument lost traction. This will be a good fight I hope we all enjoy.

Walrus, a little advice. Maybe try not wasting your time telling other posters what you think other posters felt or meant. I never called Bilbo Gamo a racist or accused him of being a Nazi because he thought Canelo being Mexican gave him some kind of advantage over Golovkin. You are just making stuff up again.

if I am not a BoxNation subscriber, can I still buy the fight via Sky Box Office?

So Kirkland, Cotto, Cintron and Angulo all can’t punch?
They all have very decent knockout percentages.
Curtis Stevens is a big puncher based on what?
I know HBO hyped him up before the GGG fight
But let’s be honest, he’s just an average fighter.
Lemieux is a decent puncher but who has he knocked out?
Three of his last six fights have gone the distance.
Jacobs punches hard than both Lemieux and Stevens IMO

Of course, he’s beaten the better fighters at 160
He’s spent his whole career at middleweight.
However, Alvarez beat Cotto, who beat Martinez
Who was the Middleweight champion of the world.
I don’t think Alvarez has ever cheated or been gifted a win
The Lara fight was close but so was the Jacobs fight for GGG.
Kirkland, Cotto, Cintron and Angulo are all welterweight/junior middleweights, and when they faced Canelo, other than Cotto, they were (less than) shades of their former selves. And Cotto hasn't been known as a puncher at that weight. So, no they all have were well picked opponents for Canelo.
Canelo's big wins were against Trout and Lara. And those are solid wins.
What they say about punching power is the better puncher in a fight is the guy who can take the other guys' power more. With that said, who do you think can take each other's punches better here?
Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
@Rantcatrat I think they both have good chins
And I expect this fight to go the full 12 rounds
Without either man touching the canvas.

Solid opponents. The wins were anything but solid.

I think Jacob's was flattered a bit by Golovkin. I don't really think it was as close as many do and also think he benefited from Golovkin's forcing style which allowed him to look good in eye-catching bursts. Canelo fights at a much more safety first/sedate pace which would either force Jacobs to be more assertive or get blamed for being too negative.

Fenster is one of the more prolific posters at Saddo and I tend to agree with him. However, Canelo struggled a bit with Lara, and the style Jacobs was able to impose with some success on GGG was the same style Lara used with Canelo, and Jacobs walks into the ring weighing 180 pounds and has 3 inches in hight and more in reach on Lara. I don't see it.
Alpha made the same point about Lara-Canelo, yeah, it's an informative one.
((Nice to see you back @Rantcatrat))
Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
Apart from this fight (1:30 of video) can anyone think of another fight when Canelo was rocked/wobbled/stunned?

Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
That fight above is the only time I have seen Canelo "hurt", he is a tough squared jawed block of a man who probably takes a baseball bat to be put down.
I think GGG is heavy handed enough to hurt and possibly stop Saul.

Specifically thinking about when he's been hurt, walrus, like Master said he's a prime granite tank (he's only 19 in that vid above plus he was only briefly buzzed and it was the first round).
For sure he can be outboxed, I think Golovkin can outpoint/outbox him behind his terrific jab, but that's probably not good enough to get a win. Golovkin needs to iron this boy clean out.
Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
Apart from Kirkland and Angulo tho who were both on the slide, what big middleweight punchers has he faced? Mosley a former lightweight is arguably the biggest puncher he's faced.
Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
Golovkin is getting on a bit, but Canelo is made for him IMO. Jacobs was a much trickier opponent because he was just so much bigger than GGG and on his feet so much. Canelo is flat footed, takes time off and Golovkin will hurt him for it. I can see Golovkin, if he is at his best, hacking down Canelo to the body early and taking down the head after the first few. I can see GGG stopping him between rounds 7 and 9.
Re: Golovkin-Canelo OFFICIAL!!!- Sept 16th
i want canelo to win just because of the way Golovkin says "you guys"
