Thoughts?
I don't have a problem with this fight being for the #10 spot, for the following reasons
Guzman and Peterson have been inactive and we can't rely on them actually fighting in the near future and even if they do, there's no
guarantee that it will be against an opponent at a level higher than
Kevin Kelly. Prescott is scheduled to fight Valero, which a victory there
would propel him to the top of the rankings (thus bumping Escobedo back
off the ranking).
I like the fact that Escobedo is very active & filling the vacancies is very important, but Hernandez & Kelly aren't good enough opponents imo to qualify for ranking & heaven forbid Kelly wins?
Anyone else got opinions?
Escobedo vs Kelly for the vacant #10 at 135
1 for, 1 against
I vote for that fight being for 10th spot.
On finding a fight for the LHW division, could we see what happens in the Pascal-Diaconu fight? If its a close fight both guys could get in, or if Pascal wins, Diaconu doesn't need to get bumped to 10th.
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
I would prefer we put Urbano Antillon in at 10th at 135, his last two fights have been at lightweight & he last fought on the 1st of May, the 10th position was vacant at that time so his fight would have qualified...
opinions...

I like Urbano a lot, he's one of my favorites I don't know that his wins are necessarily over better opponents either. I say we reset the vote, and vote Antillon vs. Escobedo.
If that's the case I vote Antillon.

Also does John vs Juarez 2 qualify for our 1st SaddoBoxing Championship? I vote that it does!
No way. Under no circumstances should Juarez even be in that position

Escobedo vs Kelly for the vacant #10 at 135
1 for, 1 against
Much respect to Kelly for some great fights but I cant think of making him top ten now.If some how he manages a win over Escobedo,I really doubt it....I think it says less about him being able to hang in top ten and maybe more about Escobedo not belonging in the first place??Maybe thats rough & Hernandez win was big step but If we voted,I see Antillon as more developed, better all around fighter.
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
O.K. so we're 3 votes for Antillon to take to 10th spot
Chris John(our #1) vs Rocky Juarez(our #3) for the featherweight championship
2 votes for, 1 against

I'm for that. The #1 vs. the #3 should qualify to fill a vacant spot.

I'm gonna go against the grain and vote for Escobedo, although I'm on a losing battle, hell even I like Antillon more.
Also vote yes on proposition John/Juarez
Also, question, what do we do assuming Rafa beats Mendoza? Does he remain in the pool or do we push him back up somewhere in the rankings? Do we have some kind of special case scenario?

He should get his old spot back
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
As much as I'd love to rank Rafa again I feel he should have to fight his way back onto our rankings just like everybody else. Plus his fight is going to be over the 122 limit, also should he be victorious he should be in line for the Gonzalez/ Toshiaki winner which could see him ranked with a victory there...

I just noticed the fight is at 126. He should at least be allowed into the pool

I have no problem with admitting Rafa into the pool at 126,
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
I'm good with Marquez moving into the pool at 126 as well
The question this week is: Jhonny Gonzalez... does he drop 1, 2 or 3 spots? He did drop Nishioka in the 1st but was smashed in the 3rd
My vote is he drops 2 spots which would remove him to the pool, if this is the case we would need to find a fight to fill the vacancy at 10
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
As per usual though Jhonny was waaay ahead when he got caught. I don't I know he's my favorite fight but I think he should only drop one spot. A bad KO yes, but Gonzalez was in charge the rest of the fight.
I also have no problem with moving Rafa to the 126 Pool
Re: Saddoboxing Official Ratings
I vote he only drops a place, if there's a fight to take his spot than the winner can do that, but I don't agree with leaving a vacant spot just for the sake of it, we should try & make sure every division has a complete Top 10
