I must admit I would quite like to go to a care home. I find it a burden sometimes that I have to work, cook my meals, pay the bills etc. I heard that the prisons out here even give free language lessons, so I kind of look at that with the free board, food, lessons etc as a bit of a luxury. I would love to be able to just read my books, do a little language learning, do a little writing and otherwise do nothing else, but it's hard to find the time to do that when you work so much. There's a certain kind of security on the inside which you don't get in the outside world. I don't regard it as especially free to have to look for jobs, worry about the future and all that. I once asked my wife if I could go to a mental hospital of some kind for a break and apparently you have to pay a lot of money to stay there, so even that is a no go. You have to stay outside and work or die if you don't. Even in the hospital it's 200 pounds a night for a private room. It's quite extreme in the outside world.
That was slightly off topic. I should probably look into hiring a Filipino maid or something, but I'm a bit stingy. I have to vacuum every single day and do the washing up. It's ridiculous! No need to go to a mental hospital or prison just because I don't want to cook dinner though. Though someone who thinks like that could probably use a holiday of some kind. I just finished work and I am hungry whence the moan. I blame Walrus.
BTW, Jeremy Corbyn is an anagram of My Beer, Corny J! You learn something new everyday.
Jeremy Corbyn is to unveil a "radical and responsible" plan for government, vowing Labour will change the country and govern "for the many not the few".
Launching his manifesto, he will pledge to reverse seven years of austerity but also "manage within our means".
Plans include an "excessive pay levy" on salaries above £330,000, more free childcare and the nationalisation of England's 10 water companies.
The Tories said the sums "don't add up" and taxes would go up "dramatically".
Labour is the first of the major parties to publish its manifesto ahead of the general election on 8 June.
Mr Corbyn will contrast his "programme of hope", which he will maintain is fully costed, with what he will claim is Theresa May's "fear-based" campaign and her "tight-fisted, mean-spirited" party.
"People want a country run for the many not the few," he will say.
"For the last seven years, our people have lived through the opposite, a Britain run for the rich, the elite and the vested interests.
"Labour's mission, over the next five years, is to change all that.
"It's a programme that will reverse our national priorities to put the interests of the many first. It will change our country while managing within our means."
Labour says 95% of people will not see their taxes go up. Speaking on BBC Breakfast, shadow chancellor John McDonnell said some of the highest earners would have to pay "a little bit more" but that precise details of any income tax changes would not be revealed until the manifesto's launch at 11:00 BST.
A "ground-breaking" level of detail about policy costings would be provided, he promised.
Unconfirmed reports have suggested those earning more than £80,000 could face a rise in income tax to 45%.
Mr McDonnell said Labour was aiming to establish a "fair system" of taxation in order to "invest for the future".

Ah yes, because Government is the most altruistic and best instrument for charity which is why all of those less fortunate people in Cuba, Venezuela, China, and the former Soviet Union were cared for so well by their governments.
yeah yeah, it's the fault of capitalism that communism sucks so fucking bad, I get it, everything bad ever has only happened because of Capitalism
That is the complete opposite of what I said. All the parties are capitalists so stop dreaming up excuses. It's not charity people want,so don't be so patronising, people want to be treated like human beings. Altruism should be an ideal of both Government and the individual.
You are just making up bullshit again. I don't even know why it would bother you which way the UK voted.
All the parties are capitalist? The Communist Party backs Corbyn, the Socialists want to join Labour and back Corbyn. Corbyn's buddy John McDonnell admitted (in the right company) that "I don't lie, I'm a Marxist" his words, not mine, but all the parties are Capitalist? I question it.
"It's not charity people want,so don't be so patronising, people want to be treated like human beings. Altruism should be an ideal of both Government and the individual."
Oh I'm sorry you're the overseer of all the people who have problems? Yeah I've read about your friend, he's not the only one with issues, but that's OK you complain for him, you go out and tell people that their money should go to HIM regardless of any troubles they might be facing. Oh you're a small business owner who pays alimony to your ex-wife and you have a child who is in poor health and will never work a proper job? YOU need to pay up you dirty capitalist pig dog! Why? Because there are people other than you who can't work and are dependent on taxpayers flipping the bill for them. You care for your employees, you care for your ex-wife, you care for your sickly daughter, but that's not enough you need to care for everyone else too!
Don't fucking lecture me about the less fortunate and how they need to be cared for, I fucking do that in my spare time.....when I'm not working, when I'm not caring for my family, I take my time, my effort, and I help those in need and I think we do a hell of a lot better than the fucking government does!
The only person lecturing anyone here is you Lyle. This is the UK election thread stop trying make everything about you and your self righteous Christian indignation about your precious money and capitalism you prick.
You are constantly projecting bullshit on people and situations you have absolutely no knowledge of. I like all the other Brits here am personally affected by the result of this election and yet you think you know what is best for us. I despair at how difficult it is to get anything across to somebody so hostile and bitter but really mate you have no fucking idea. I know exactly what it feels like to balance caring for a paralysed and epileptic loved one and to try and run a business at the same time. FFS since when I have not been a taxpayer? I don't begrudge what I pay if that helps others, that is not communism.
I am at heart a socialist but I work and live in a capitalist society and I understand quite well thank you how effective things like commons and community can operate under principles that work within capitalism. Not everybody here is so resentful as you, they love the NHS and the ideas that fuelled it and would rather it not be sold off to American private companies thank you.
What a piece of shit Beans turned out to be. First he backs John Ruiz, now he's chomping daisies in Cardiff.
If I'm lecturing on anything it would be about the dangers of Communism/Socialism, but hey "Next time will be different" I am sure :-\
Yes it's the UK election thread, yes correct, and? OK so individual charity of one's own free will is no match for Government? Is that what we're to take from your post? Are people not apt to give more money when they can afford it? Naaaah it's best not to think and just allow government to do it's thing right?
"I like all the other Brits here am personally affected by the result of this election and yet you think you know what is best for us. I despair at how difficult it is to get anything across to somebody so hostile and bitter but really mate you have no fucking idea."
....alright then, I'll just await you to tell me my opinion on things then because obviously I cannot be afforded my own
What does any of that even mean? You are just trolling. What is the problem with you pair? Condescending, lecturing the UK on who they should vote for, how they should live their lives, and the dangers of not being a weak feeble carbon copy of Trumpland and his sick values. Fortunately most Americans are nothing like you two.
