Ha
I held out while he bowed at the graveside but once he put the Miyagi photo up in the dojo, dug out the bandana and the old theme music kicked in I was that 11 year old again....:eek:
Took me forever to see this but I loved it so much I dragged up this thread. As has been said nostalgia trip is the only way to describe it.
I went from laughing at Daniel being portrayed as a corny prick to hoping everyone gets along. And laughing at Johnny to thinking it's a bit tragic. Johnny was a superb representation for anyone completely lost in this era, not just by gadgets and whatnot but language, mannerisms and attitudes too.
As it went on i'm glad Daniel wasn't turned into a complete arsehole and Johnny a hero. I loved the way they constantly saw the exact same past events in the opposite light - Ally had been stolen from Johnny, he got sucker punched on the beach, unjustly bashed up and still pined for Ally all these years later.
And even the kids characters were terrific too. The little cleft lip kid who turned into a psycho was brilliant.
Roll on series 2 - bring back Kumike and Chozen !
One scene that did make me laugh was in the bar when they were looking at Ali and photos of her new husband
I'll have to go back and look.
I remember - look at that stupid face when he was a good looking guy. Funny
Season 2 looks like it will be even better.

Slowing down an 80's track, not generally a fan. But Cruel Summer, c'mon. I don't like watching Daniel fight, he was terrible at it in the 80's.
I’m 3 episodes into series 2 and I have to say now that the magic and nostalgia of catching up with our childhood heroes and villains in series 1 has worn off it’s getting a little bit silly......
I’m hoping it improves
I have watched the first episode and I am sure John Kreese has PTSD and still believes it is 1985.
Not quite sure what he’s bringing to it.
