I had a soft spot for Jeremy Williams, he was trained to be the next Mike Tyson but did not have the build, talent or chin.
Jersey Joe Walcott getting knocked out by Rocky and Walcott knocking out Ezzard Charles with one punch are classics.

Ive seen it @SlimTrae
always worth another look
I've always wondered if that Williams ko stacked the deck on Peter as some instant wrecking machine. Williams was always hands flying exciting but he also had a chin made of burnt toast.
Reggie Johnson pole-axing William Guthrie! Can't find a vid but top notch
Well it darn tootin' didn't hurt his chances of being labeled the next KO machine!
In fact, Showtime (showbox) catapulted Sam Peter with this win.

memories came back once I watched the video above- prefight show. Their editing of the fights he won were special. I knew he hadn't fought anyone & as they stated- fighting Sykes was a nobrainer, one can now look back and see fighting Sykes wasnt the bout that told us he was ready!
I bought it! Sold! I knew he was the next KO artist of the Decade LMAO! I figured he'd win a title, lose & win it a few, over the course of a decade.
I felt he was gifted with the 1st win over Toney . But Toney II, I gave him the win, clear. Was aware that his main punch was more of a clubbing shot, not really a clean str8 right. Toney hadn't made it clear he was now on the downside of his career.
But Toney is where I bought into the idea he was learning since his '05 loss to Klitschko. It wasn't as if he hadn't dropped Kiltshcko he did, but again I did note when he landed shots, they were looping.
Man I thought if he learns leverage that shot will explode someone's brain I thought!
But he never learned to throw str8 and JT's inside counter style allowed him to appear he had progressed as a boxer. Especially when he had to win against McCline on points, then turned around and had a gr8 slug fest with Oleg Maskaev & finished him.
I thought since Maskaev is better than Rahman and Peter drubbed Oleg, Peter is ready for the rematch with Kitchko.
I (TRULY) think Vitali destroyed him inside. Before that fight he had a rage inside him and a great 2 word moniker when he won he hollered; WHOSE NEXT!
WHO?:mr-t:
WHOSE NEXT!!:furious2:
OH i LOVED IT!!!!;D
After Vitali he approached fights dare I say...without the eye of the tiger?;) Going in against Wlad, 1st 2 rounds I knew he wouldn't win, there was no fire. No Nigerian Nightmare. Some guys have potential and they run into a future ATG. Vitali was that man, Wlad did the rest and as of last year some guy with 9 fights stopped him.:-\
Didn't know he was still fighting in 2019.
Is he the savior of HW Boxing asks Showbox...tonight he displays his power against unheralded, unranked Tuarus Sykes! The Jury is still out on Sam Peter
Vitali IMO was the judge & Juror.
One can literally see Sam's demeanor in this fight turn from nigerian nightmare to nigerianhushpuppy. He hasn't lost that soft demeanor since....

What I loved about this was the timing. A few more seconds before you can hear the loud Hatton crowd pick up the noise- the drummer starts boom-boom boom in a second they went from chanting hey hey;D to sounding like they all said oooo hellll nawww...:o:eek:
;D;D
That shit was hilarious. No more walking in a hatton wonder land...he was sent to wonderland...hahahaaaa!!!
This video isn't worth watching. I just love the fact that it shows Mit Romney's facial expression at the time of impact.
https://youtu.be/CEIywwi5zxk
He shows up to pac's dressing room says he is the guy who got beat for POTUS and the next thing we know.....
BTW One of the best knock outs of the past 20 years. Definately!
Not sure if this is 1 or 2 punches. Well it was 2, But it seems as if he was in lala land with the 1st shot.
A shame this video is so grainy- around 3:27 when Moorer is dropped (for a milisecond) one can see his cornerman, lower left hand in green turn his head in disbelief. I think I know what he said:
Damn! I JUST SAT Down Michael....damn!!!!!:vd:

I was a big McKinney guy and this remains one of the nastiest 1 and over of the decade. Fun fight all around, back when your Olympic Gold medalists went off to obscurity for that first title try and you had no way of watching it live ;D. If you're in a hurry go to around 39.20. I forgot about what happened right before the end..some places some refs that would have been waved right off :-X.

That uppercut looked like it barely landed and skimmed the face. That was a brutal fight.
2021 in the running..
