What did you think of his jab on Saturday?
I thought he used it very well.

Agreed. My first though was that he looked comfortable with it. I have to look back to see if this due to anything that was due to Mohammed doing anything badly.

He has a fantastic jab. It's hard as hell and he throws it to the head, chest, and stomach with great accuracy.
He really impressed me in the Hopkins fight with it. If he keeps jabbing and doesn't turn into a crazy headhunter, he's going to be champ for a long time.

I thought he looked really good the other night, he looked like he wanted to drag it out and not go straight in for the KO, I think he realised that Mohammed didn't have much to offer but he still wanted to prolong it.
The straight right and jab that finished it were great
His jab is awesome and combined with subtle half steps and solid footwork its his foundation I believe. He does vary it with ease. Touch and turn over into hook, stabbing to the midsection then head, belly then head, rinse repeat. When Duva started all of the KRUSHER talk and ko hype I hoped he wouldn't try to fit a stereotype and be some bomb thrower with no imagination. But man..Kovalev has gears and under Jackson you can see everything in unison. Kos are great..but watching a guy dress it up and skill his way to handing out concussions is even better. Very smart fighter.
He has very good straight punches, can jab, one-two, shift punching, side stepping,
Not the best I have seen, but very textbook like

Kovalev is methodical and he def sets up his punches well.
Also his opponent was terrified and made him look invincible.
Of course he's looked invincible against top competition as well. He's very hard to beat.
Finally watched the fight last night. Krusher uses that jab for distance and set up. It really is a beautiful thing. I hope to see Krusher and Ward next year, if Ward does resurrect
These guys start to get in trouble when they stop jabbing. GGG had bad moments against Monroe when he became a headhunter, so did Lemieux in his last fight, and Provodnikov against Matthysse, and so on.
Pascal did his best work against Kovalev when Sergei abandoned the jab.
When you can knock a guy out with a jab to the body, you have a great jab.

Kovalev is fantastic and he is using that jab better and better. I just struggle to see how anyone can take him into deep waters. He hurts fighters with everything and being so sound technically, I think the only person that can beat Kovalev is Kovalev. He has that aura of invincibility right now that Mike Tyson once had. I would say Mayweather, but Mayweather has had lots of close fights and cannot stop a bus whilst Tyson up until Douglas really didn't seem touchable and was devastating. Kovalev has that about him.
Kov jab was impressive in this fight but he did have the height and reach advantage. I was also impressed with the power of the right hand over the top and the left hook to the body was impressive. He is a quality fighter who has a mean streak and nasty side to him. I would love to see him batter Stevenson.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Did a rewatch on the weekends mugging and didn't realize that his jab was actually the one that shattered Mohammedis nose and put him down for count. Lands lead right then switches stance with full front foot into a hybrid jab/hook left with ease. Nice.
