Default Want to start boxing but cant find a club in my area

Hi everyone. I posted a while back moaning that that there werent any boxing clubs in my area and i really wanted to start. Since then, ive been training my fitness and have done quite well. The problem is i still cant find any clubs and its really starting to get me down because i feel that time is running out for me (im 30). The reason im posting to you guys about it is because im wondering if there may be any way to get round my situation, maybe some of you have been in a similar pridicament and found a solution? Any help or advice would be massively appreciated.

Where specifically do you live? (Apparently somewhere in England from you flag?)

Some of the boxes and coaches know a LOT of people and may know someone reasonably near you who has a gym, possibly a private one or one that is otherwise not well advertised.

What steps have you taken to determine that there is nothing near you? (We might be able to think of other ideas...)

Obvious stuff is includes: phone books or directories for your town, and nearby (larger) places, Google e.g. [boxing classes | lessons | club YOUR_CITY ], checking local schools especially colleges and universities (some will let you join the clubs even if you are not a student), recreation centers, meetup/classifieds for your area (here in the states I would try Meetup.com and Craigslist.org), contacting your country's Amateur Boxing Association for clubs or to find registered coaches/trainers in your area.

Also, consider taking an ad online yourself and ORGANIZE you own club. [I had to do this with AMOK! knife defense to get some workout partners for this self-defense training.]

Others can probably think of a few more ideas that I have mentioned.

    Hey Hoggy

Go to the ABA (Amateur Boxing Association) website, there's a club finder there - ABAE > Forum.

    Good luck mate
