you should exhale sharply when you punch.

Forget your nose, the air ways aren't as good, just don't have your mouth wide open. If your jaw is wide open its bigger lever to transfer weight from a punch and do more damage.

while youre training if you could just keep inhaling through your nose and exhaling from your mouth it will mean you are in better overall shape. Eventually you'll get to the point where youre not gasping for air

well a more open mouth makes it more likey that you will break your jaw.. i let my jaw hang alot cause i have pretty permanantly blocked sinuses

an open jaw is a broken jaw :P

it also raises the chances of a KO if the jolt of slamming your jaw shut is from a powerful uppercut

just try your best to inhale through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.....if you can....if not they have really good mouthpieces (around 20-30 dollars) from ringside or everlast that have airways set in them so you can still have your jaw clenched and it will prevent the easy ko or broken jaw.....
It feels good to be back home.

I know this may sound embarressing but I just started putting a mouth piece in and I have a tremendous amount of saliva that comes out!!! My mouth just getting used to it or is it a poor mouth piece?
