Calzaghe is too slick, way too active, has superior technique, substantially faster, and far more skilled than Pavlik.

Pavlik is much better than I gave credit for before the Taylor fight (I had Taylor by TKO) but Joe Calzaghe is in a class of his own.

I go for Joe by stoppage. I just think that he knows a little bit too much for Pavlik who I thought was very easy for Taylor to hit. Taylor would beat him in a rematch too!

I initially thought Calzaghe by K.O but he hasnt really been putting em away recently and Pavlik just keeps coming at you no matter what so a realistic pick is that Joe would show superior skills and win a wide UD

Ah another moron, we seem to have a few recently. It's funny I used to think TysonBruno was the stupidest man to ever put his fingers to a computer keyboard but now I realise he's actually a few rungs up the evolutionary ladder from some of our other recent members.

calzaghe wouldn't ever ko pavlik. pavlik's chin is too good. and how can anyone say that calzaghe would outwork pavlik. pavlik has a better workrate and way better power. calzaghe has better handspeed, footwork and i think could control pavliks pressure. calzaghe by hard fought decision

I don't see Kelly Pavlik having any problem moving up in weight.

For me Calzaghe would take this one over twelve fairly difficult rounds, but that is on the basis of where he is now, and that could be very different in a few weeks time, after Calzaghe faces Kessler.

But for now, this is how I would read it. Pavlik would carry a lot of his power up to super-middleweight, but will also probably be more comfortable at the weight. Calzaghe's power has diminshed over recent years, as he's altered his style because of his hand injuries, meaning his emphasis is more on volume and speed, and less on his old power.

Pavlik would simply struggle to deal with that pace, as I believe Kessler will, and although he might land some big shots, and possibly even a knockdown, I think Calzaghe would do enough over the rounds to pull out a fairly comfortable points win.

Agreed. I love Pavlik & think he's the shit...but c'mon...against Calzaghe...there aint anyone around the range that I'd pick to beat him. Joe get's up for a good scrap & he's got enough to get by with the best of 'em.
