If this fight every happen, Triple G vs Martinez, who do you got?
If this fight every happen, Triple G vs Martinez, who do you got?
its a tough one
Triple G looks fantastic but Martinez has been there for a long time
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
As much as I like Martinez if he can't get Golovkin out of there early it's bad news.
Even though GGG is said to fade late, Sergio is worse with his age and the Chavez fight, seemed Sergio's whole body was breaking down a the end.
I think Sergio might be too "fragile" for GGG at this point in his career, but we don't even know yet and will find out April for sure.
Sergio would win he is a class above, Golovkin is not in that league yet as good as he is.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Damn I hate that Sergio came into the spotlight in the near twilight of his career. Sigh..I fear he's a bit too old for the style that he implements.
Golovkin will win in about 6 rounds, sergio will get badly Ko GGG has to much
fire power.
Really hope we see this fight. Like both guys think they are miles ahead ov any1 else in the division but at this stage I would fancy golavkin I think he is going to prove himself over the next year to be the main man but u can never Completely rule out Martinez even at his age
just now i am going for martinez to out box him and stop him late... give it a couple of years for matinez to get older and golovkin wins... but just now i am thinking martinez is too skilled at this moment of time... would be a really good and close fight though
with ggg's power he could get his arse kicked for 11 rounds and score a KO.
lets get it on !!!!
Frankly, it's a great match-up. Martinez is coming off of a big surgery on his knee. Martinez relies on being able to zip in and out against opponents. If he can't move around the ring with the same ease, he'll be in trouble against a monster like Golovkin. In addition, if he has retained that speed of foot, Golovkin would eventually walk through his punches. If, however, Martinez has the same ability to move, I see Golovkin getting outboxed in a decision.
The fight I most want to see for Golovkin is a unification fight with Quillin, assuming Martinez beats Murray and fights Junior in September, and Junior beats Macklin (rumored opponent). None of which is set in stone.
I wish Martinez would take on Golovkin (or for that matter, Quillin or Geale) instead of facing Junior again, but hey there's more money in a Junior fight. On that note, I hope Martinez sticks by his requirement Junior take VADA drug tests this time. I sincerely doubt that Junior can make 160 legally.
At this stage I'd take martinez, by KO
But Martinez is getting older & little cracks have begun to appear
If Martinez leaves it to long I'd favour GGG
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
I think Golo needs more seasoning and high end experience first. He gets nicked by a fair share of throw away left hooks from what I've seen. You don't go from pounding on blown up jr middleweights trying to survive (sorry Ishida, but we know why he and his 8 kos but warriors chin are up next) to bullying in on a guy of Martinez pedigree and not paying dearly. Martinez is older and seemingly has spots of susceptibility but he always finds a way to win and solve an opponent. This one won't happen next month...but next month I think Martinez marks him up badly and takes a dec. or tko on cuts, bumps and lumps.

This really depends on when it happens. Now I'd take Martinez but in a years time I might think differently. Golovkin isn't ready for Martinez now. Sergio is fading though and takes far too many punches for someone who fights hands down. He can't rely on those reflexes forever.
