Kessler is tough and he is pretty skilled. Let me put it this way....hes probably got more power then lacy...and hes can box ver well. Calzaghe WILL have trouble with him, this will be no walk over like he did to lacy, kessler aint an easy fight for anyone.
Agreed Snake - Calzaghe will have his hands full here I think. Kessler is very conservative with his style, he's not as hittable as Lacy. Add the fact that he's a FUCKING HUGE super middleweight and I think I might have some bucks on the upset.
Would love to see that fight, but they didn't even televise Calzaghe/Lacy here, so I doubt we'll get this one...
"I take good care of my people. I like to inflict permanent psychological damage."
This is B-E-A-Utiful news to the Wack!!!
Apparently Kess got wind of the match up with Manfredo & has seen the light of day.
I do believe that it will be his downfall though...
In the beginning I wanted this fight...but now...honestly, I wish that Calzaghe had just passed on up to 175 & let Kessler clean up the mess at 168.
Calzaghe by a hard fought 12 round SD.
This will be a hard fight for Joe, but he'll win.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
I think if this fight definately happens than i might just pick Kessler, ive seen around 7 or 8 fights of his and this guy isnt over hyped like lacy!
Calzaghe wants nothing of Kessler. He has turned down Kessler before and he will this time again I am sure. Kessler is almost impossible to beat on points and Calzaghe does not have the punch to take out Kessler.
He may no be impossible in Joes home country tho, and i say joe would be pretty hard to take 12 rounds and win on points?
If JC performs as he did aginst Lacy,I'm sorry but no-one can keep up with him. How many punches did he throw? We all know Calzaghe has a chin too, whereas Kessler's in untested. Either way, this fight HAS to be made and having seen Kessler in action,I must say,it will be tough for Joe but I mean,it's a big jump in competition for Kessler. How is is chin?Stamina?
Kessler's chin is good... His stamina as well is fine, although he had some issues with it for one fight against Mundine, I dont think he got in the proper roadwork and training for that fight, and still won handily. Also JC was able to perform like that against Lacy because of his style, it's not like noone could ever beat him if he performs like that as you say... Lacy just kept coming forward the whole night throwing wild punches that were clear as day and easy to counter.. Kessler would definetly not do that, especially after being ringside for the fight. I think he has a good chance, and would certainly make for a hell of a test for Joe, if he boxes from the outside as much as possible. Kessler is really strong with a long reach and good, mechanical jab, plus he has a great straight right hand as well, which Lacy apparently hadn't even heard of when he fought JOe. hopefully this happens, great matchup.
Good matchup - Calzaghe is the more skilled, more experienced guy. Kessler is BIG, really BIG, and has a difficult style.
Joe just might end up hurting his hands on this guy and struggling, but a fit Calzaghe is my pick to win this one on points.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
Yeah but has Kessler ever faced someone that can throw 5,6,7, hits and then not be there anymore. Aren't most of the guys he has fought stationary targets? Kessler looks big strong powerful but he also looks mechanical, slightly slow too, from what I have seen of him anyway!
Yes he is a bit mechanical your right, but that's not neccesarily a bad thing, maybe for entertainment value but he's effective. Also he fought Mundine who is very fast, fast hands, a mover, lots of talent.. Though Mundines no Calzaghe, certainly not a stationary target either.. I also think one of Calzaghes few flaws is just as you say, he will thow like 6 or 7 punch combos when, IMO, he would be better off throwing 3 or 4 punch combos and really putting his all into them.. They way he throws combos it seems like each punch loses alot of power, and there is a slight window of oppourtunity for his opponent to land a big shot, like Byron Mitchell did.
Joe by decision.
He is still hungry and he is very fit, I only wonder about his shonky mit. He needs all his bits too be in tip top shape for a tough nut like Kessler.
