    Default Boxing Organisations

As far as I know there are the four major ones:
    WBC:- World Boxing Council
    WBA:- World Boxing Association
    WBO:- World Boxing Organisation
    IBF:- Intrnational Boxing Federation

    and some minor ones:

    IBO:- International Boxing Organisation
    IBA:- International Boxing Association
    IBC:- International Boxing Council
    WBU:- World Boxing Union
    WBF:- World Boxing Federation

Thats 9 international ones!! Any I missed out?

Also which belt is the most credible, WBC because its oldest?
    Which is least credible?

Has anybody held more than 6 (RJJ:- WBC,IBF,WBA,IBO,WBF,IBA [also NBA])?

Is there somewhere to find out the history of these organisations?

WBO for the most part is slightly regarded, unless a popular boxer claims the title and retains it in a certain division.

There are way too many of these.. Not totally sure but I think the WBA is older than the WBC, well I think they were both around 1962 but the WBA came from the NBA or something like that

I agree. Even though there are some good WBO champions out there such as Margarito the WBO should not be mentioned with the big three

i disagree about the WBO, it is a legitiment world title now
Anyway, i think the WBA was made in 1912 and the WBC was made in the 1960's.

So, anyone know of a champ who held more belts simultaneously than RJJ?

The NBA was formed in 1927, and it became the WBA in 1962, so therefore is is the oldest world boxing organisation by far. The WBC was formed the next year. It's hard to say who's the most credible these days, I'm not super up on the boxing potitics, prefering to just follow the fights that interest me, but The WBA does superchamps now don't they?meaning they have multiple champs in one division. Add to that the IBF being monitored by the government for being corrupt, and The WBC nearly going bankrupt for illegally stripping a guy of a belt he won, and you could say the WBO is the most credible, as they just do what they're supposed to, put on fights. They're not, but you could see it that way.

And no, I've never heard of someone having more than 6 belts at once.

I think the same goes for the IBF as well....I really only recognize the WBA and the WBC...those are the 2 big guns....WBA #1 and WBC #2
It feels good to be back home.
